Itinerary

DAY 1:                                                 LUGO

Make your own way to Lugo. Free time to explore. Overnight stay. Lugo is renowned for preserving significant Roman heritage, including a World Heritage-listed Roman wall, ancient thermal baths, and the Roman bridge. The city’s vibrant festivals attract many visitors, and its rich gastronomy offers a variety of tapas and local wines.

DAY 2:                                                 LUGO – A PONTE DE FERREIRA

(26.5 km, approximately 7 hours, Difficulty level: easy)

You will have to take your luggage to the lobby of your hotel/pension before 08:00 am. Enjoy breakfast before starting the day. Today’s route follows local roads and some unpaved paths. The main challenge is the distance covered, as there are minimal elevation changes. Overnight stay at your accommodation.

DAY 3:                                                A PONTE DE FERREIRA – MELIDE

(20 km, approximately 5 hours, Difficulty level: easy)

You will have to take your luggage to the lobby of your hotel/pension before 08:00 am. Enjoy breakfast before setting out on today’s stage, which features a distinctly rural character and some hilly sections. The route leads to Melide, the geographic centre of Galicia and the point where it joins the French Way. The slightly shorter “Vía Romana” route is recommended. Overnight stay at your accommodation.

DAY 4:                                                MELIDE – ARZÚA

(14.1 km, approximately 3 hours, Difficulty level: easy)

You will have to take your luggage to the lobby of your hotel/pension before 08:00 am. After breakfast, depart Lugo province and walk into A Coruña province. Today’s route covers several kilometres, passing charming towns such as Boente and Castañeda, before arriving in Arzúa, renowned for its local cheese. Overnight stay at your accommodation.

DAY 5:                                                 ARZÚA – O PEDROUZO

(19.3 km, approximately 5 hours, Difficulty level: easy)

You will have to take your luggage to the lobby of your hotel/pension before 08:00 am. After breakfast, enjoy a short and peaceful stage, allowing time to reflect on the experiences of the journey before reaching Santiago the following day. Overnight stay in O Pedrouzo.

DAY 6:                                                 O PEDROUZO – SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA

(19.4 km, approximately 4 hours, Difficulty level: easy)

You will have to take your luggage to the lobby of your hotel/pension before 08:00 am. After breakfast, embark on the final stage of the journey. We recommend starting early to join the pilgrimage celebrated at 12:00 p.m. The route passes through Lavacolla and ascends Monte do Gozo, offering a distant view of the long-awaited cathedral. The journey concludes at Plaza del Obradoiro. Overnight stay at your accommodation.
