Turkish Discovery | 8 Days

Day 1 – Friday:                                Istanbul

Upon your arrival into Istanbul New airport, you will be transferred to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at your own leisure. Overnight Istanbul.

Day 2 – Saturday:                            Istanbul

After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a guided tour to Topkapi Palace, St. Sophia (external visit), Blue Mosque, and the Grand Bazaar. Overnight Istanbul (B)

Day 3 – Sunday:                               Istanbul – Ankara – Cappadocia               

After breakfast, depart for Ankara and visit the Mausoleum of Ataturk and its museum. This is the burial place of the national hero who founded the modern Republic of Turkey. Continue to Cappadocia, travelling along the picturesque Salt Lake. Overnight Cappadocia (B, D)

Day 4 – Monday:                              Cappadocia

Early in the morning an optional Hot Air Balloon tour is available. Then, full day excursion in Cappadocia including visits to the Underground City, Open Air Museum in Goreme and natural fortress in Uchisar. After lunch in a local restaurant, you will have the opportunity to discover and understand the rich history behind local handicrafts like hand-made carpets, Turkish tiles, onyx and potteries. Optional night tour with a Turkish show and dinner is available tonight. Overnight stay in Cappadocia. (B,L)

Day 5 – Tuesday:                             Cappadocia – Konya – Pamukkale

Early departure for Konya with a visit to the 13th century Seljukian masterpiece Sultanhan Caravanserai on the way. After visiting the Mausoleum of Mevlana in Konya, continue to Pamukkale. Overnight Pamukkale (B, D)

Day 6 – Wednesday:                        Pamukkale – Selcuk – Izmir

After breakfast, visit the ancient Hierapolis with the magnificent Necropolis, graveyard and the lime cascades. Continue to Selcuk and visit the Temple of Artemis, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, before departing for Izmir. Overnight Izmir. (B, D)

Day 7 – Thursday:                           Izmir – Ephesus – Sirince – Izmir

Morning drive to Ancient city of Ephesus where you will visit its magnificent library, theatre and temples. Lunch will be in a nomadic tent in Selcuk to taste traditional Turkish Gozleme. Continue to one of the most beautiful villages in Turkey, Sirince, for some free time. Return to Izmir. Overnight Izmir. (B, L, D)

Day 8 – Friday:                                  Izmir – Kusadasi (optional)

After breakfast, transfer to Izmir airport or to Kusadasi port. End of our services. (B)

–          Tour can be a combination of regular tours, therefore coach changes may be required. The same people may not be travelling throughout the tour.
