DAY 1: ISTANBUL
Upon arrival, transfer from Istanbul New airport to the hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Istanbul.
DAY 2: ISTANBUL After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a guided tour of Topkapi Palace, St. Sophia, the Blue Mosque and the Grand Bazaar. Overnight stay in Istanbul. (B)
DAY 3: ISTANBUL – ANKARA – CAPPADOCIA For Superior option: After breakfast, depart for Ankara and visit the Mausoleum of Ataturk and its museum, the final resting place of the national hero and founder of the modern Republic of Turkey. Continue onwards to Cappadocia for an overnight stay. (B, D)
For Superior with Flight option: After breakfast, transfer to Istanbul airport for a flight to Kayseri where you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel in Cappadocia. Overnight in Cappadocia. (B, D)
DAY 4: CAPPADOCIA An optional hot air balloon tour is available early this morning. Later, enjoy a full-day excursion through Cappadocia, including visits to the underground city, the Open-Air Museum in Goreme and the natural fortress of Uchisar. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. Along the way, gain insight into the region’s rich cultural heritage through traditional handicrafts such as hand-made carpets, Turkish tiles, onyx and pottery. This evening, an optional Turkish dinner and show is available. Overnight stay in Cappadocia. (B, L)
DAY 5: CAPPADOCIA – PAMUKKALE Depart early for Pamukkale. En route, visit the magnificent 13th-century Seljuk masterpiece, the Sultanhan Caravanserai. Following the visit, continue the journey to Pamukkale for an overnight stay. (B, D)
DAY 6: PAMUKKALE – SELCUK – IZMIR After breakfast, visit the ancient city of Hierapolis, including its impressive Necropolis, historic burial grounds and the stunning limestone terraces. Continue to Selcuk to explore the Temple of Artemis, once considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, before travelling onwards to Izmir for an overnight stay. (B, D)
DAY 7: IZMIR – EPHESUS – SIRINCE – IZMIR This morning, travel to the ancient city of Ephesus to explore its magnificent library, grand theatre and historic temples. Following lunch at a local restaurant, continue to the charming village of Sirince, regarded as one of Turkey’s most picturesque villages. Enjoy time to browse local shops and sample the village’s renowned wines before returning to Izmir for an overnight stay. (B, L, D)
DAY 8: IZMIR – PERGAMUM – TROY – CANAKKALE Depart early this morning for Bergama to visit the Asklepion, renowned for its remarkably preserved ruins. Continue onwards to Troy, the legendary site of the Trojan War, before travelling to Canakkale for an overnight stay. (B, D)
DAY 9: CANAKKALE – KILITBAHIR – DAWN SERVICE, GALLIPOLI
Today, visit the village of Kilitbahir, located on the eastern shore of the Gallipoli Peninsula and overlooked by its historic fortress of the same name. In the evening, drive to Anzac Cove for a sleepless night as you join the crowd and soak up the atmosphere. (B)
DAY 10: GALLIPOLI – ISTANBUL (ANZAC DAY COMMEMORATIONS) This emotional day begins in the early hours where you will take part in the commemorative Dawn Service. Today we remember the numerous lives cut short. After the Dawn Service, we pay our respects at the battlefields and attend international services. In the afternoon, you will be transferred back to your Istanbul hotel. (B)
DAY 11: ISTANBUL After breakfast, transfer to Istanbul New airport. End of services. (B)
