Arriving at Venice’s airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure until you gather for a Welcome Dinner with your Tour Director and traveling companions. Overnight Venice. (D)

DAY 2:                 VENICE

We begin exploring Venice with a boat ride to Murano Island, famous for its artistic glassware. Visit a glassblowing factory, where you will watch a demonstration of traditional Venetian glassblowing by master craftsmen. Then, on to St. Mark’s Square, for the walking tour, visiting St. Mark’s Basilica and the Doge’s Palace, and enjoying views of the Bell Tower and Bridge of Sighs. The balance of the day is at leisure to enjoy Venice at your own pace, shop, or join an optional gondola ride. (B)

DAY 3:                 VENICE – FERRARA – PISA – FLORENCE

Drive to Ferrara, a Renaissance gem in the Emilia-Romagna region, standing on the banks of the Po River. After an orientation tour, continue to Pisa where you’ll view the famous Piazza del Miracoli with its Leaning Tower, Baptistery, and Duomo. Then on to Florence for the night. (B)

DAY 4:                 FLORENCE

This morning begins with a city tour of the majestic Piazza del Duomo to see the Cathedral crowned by Brunelleschi’s awe-inspiring Dome, Giotto’s Bell Tower, and the Baptistery with Ghiberti’s splendid bronze “Gates of Paradise.” Walk across the famous old bridge – “Ponte Vecchio”. The remainder of the day is yours to savour the Renaissance splendour of the Tuscan capital your own way. (B)

DAY 5:                 FLORENCE – ASSISI – ROME

Travel through the stunning panorama of Tuscany with its iconic landscapes as you make your way to Assisi, the hometown of St. Francis. Take a walking tour to see the main square and visit the impressive Basilica of St. Francis. Continue to Rome. An evening at leisure. (B)

DAY 6:                 ROME

A full-day sightseeing tour shows you all the highlights of the incomparable Eternal City. Visit the Vatican Museums with the Sistine Chapel and grand St. Peter’s Basilica. Then on to view the Colosseum, ancient Palatine Hill overlooking Circus Maximus and the Imperial Palace, and the Roman Forum. (B)

DAY 7:                 ROME

Your day is free in spectacular Rome! Your Tour Director will have suggestions on how to spend your time. You might want to visit some of the chic shops, galleries, and museums; do some more sightseeing on your own or relax in a sidewalk cafe with a glass of fine Italian wine, a cold Limoncello, some refreshing gelato, or a hearty dish of pasta. NEW STAR

Review for: New Star Cruise Split - Dubrovnik

7 day cruise from Split to Dubrovnik on the NEW STAR. A beautifully designed yacht with an delicious captain and family and all crewmembers were a joy. The food was excellent, the cabin beautiful and soundproof, everything perfect down to the quality of the toilet paper. Everything was beautifully organised and the the tour manager was very efficient and knowledgeable and a wonderful person and always staying calm even with some very difficult passengers. We enjoyed every minute.

Croatia & Adriatic Cruise - M/S Premier

Review for: From Croatia to Italy Cruise & Stay - M/S Premier

This tour was the 2nd week of October and the last tour of the season. That came with both positives and negatives. First the positives: 1. Great Tour Managers: Gabby on land and Zoran on the MS Premier. They (and the entire crew) were extremely friendly and helpful! 2. Great itinerary with magnificent scenery! 3. Good food and lots of it! 4. Lots of plugs in your room. 5. Adequate storage space. 6.. The ship was attractive and clean, and the small numbers allowed the passengers and crew to get to know each other well. 7. During the 2nd week of October, there were no crowds at all in ports which was great, and it was not hot on the walking tours, but at times it was nippy. Negatives: 1. It was too cold to swim except on the last day, and we got some strong winds. We could not enjoy sitting on the ship decks for most of the trip, but everyone went on deck to take photos. 2. The heating and air conditioning on the Premier is controlled by the Captain. The entire ship must be set on either air conditioning or heat. This was a problem for passengers on the lower deck. It was way too hot and stuffy when the heat was turned on at night. If you were upstairs, you could open your balcony door if it got too hot, but downstairs we had to turn the ventilation off completely. This would not be a problem during the summer when the AC would be on the entire time. 3. If you take the last cruise of the year, the bar begins to run out of certain items towards the end of the cruise. 4. The bath products were minimal. You got individual packets of body wash/shampoo, but no conditioner. or lotions, and there was only one tiny waste basket in the bathroom. They needed a waste basket in the room.
