Sun Island Tours was established in 1989 and has operated for over 30 years as an Australian, family owned wholesaler, specialising in the Mediterranean. When the Covid-19 pandemic occurred, it created unprecedented challenges for the global travel industry. We have remained open and available to discuss all bookings, credits, cancellations and options since March 2020. Our team has worked tirelessly to ensure that all bookings had been responded to and actioned according to our terms and conditions. This ensured all requests were actioned within 24 hours, and any applicable refunds given within 7 days of the request to cancel.

With thousands of clients affected by international border closures, we managed to negotiate with our supplier to put most bookings into credit. This has allowed for clients to utilise these funds with minimal to no cancellation fees for rebooking. In doing so, we extended all travel credits on multiple occasions, as borders remained closed. We were happy to extend all travel credits to be used by 31 October 2022 – giving travellers 12 months to use their credit after international borders opened.

Please note our credit terms below. As we have thousands of customers at different stages of their booking, and different services booked; please adhere to your current credit note, as well as the terms and conditions of your original booking.

Please also be aware that in many cases, suppliers are holding the funds for your bookings and the credit terms have been acknowledged and confirmed with our suppliers.

For Customers who have only paid a deposit

  • This includes customers who have paid the non-refundable Sun Island Tours deposit of $200 per person, or any further non-refundable supplier deposits requested at time of booking. Please note that these deposit amounts were stipulated on the original booking summary given to either you or your travel agent.
  • The expiration of your travel credit was extended a fourth time and must be used to book and travel by 31 October 2022.
  • After 31 October 2022, no further bookings or extensions will be applicable. The credit will expire.

For Customers who have paid more than a deposit

  • This includes customers who have paid more than the non-refundable Sun Island Tours deposit of $200 per person, or any further non-refundable supplier deposits requested at time of booking. Please note that these deposit amounts were stipulated on the original booking summary given to either you or your travel agent.
  • The expiration of your travel credit was extended a fourth time and must be used to book by 31 October 2022 and travel by 30 September 2023; conditions apply.
  • After 31 October 2022, no further bookings or extensions will be applicable. The credit will expire and any funds will be lost.
  • Most of these credits would be given by the overseas ground supplier, or the operator. In this case, Sun Island Tours acts as an agent for these services, and as such are subject to the ground supplier and operator’s terms and conditions. In some cases, the travel credit cannot be extended past the expiry date listed on your current and personal credit voucher.

  • Any unused credit amounts will be made available on the existing credit voucher for use by the expiry date on your credit voucher, or the date listed above.
