Day 1                    ROME – NAPLES – POMPEII – SORRENTO

Pick up from your Rome centrally located hotel. Approximate pick up time will be on your voucher. The first destination is Naples, one of the most enchanting cities in the Mediterranean, famous worldwide for its rich history, art, culture, and gastronomy, where you will take a short panoramic tour to discover its beauty from the comfort of your coach, climbing up the Vomero hill. The town overlooks the Bay of Naples which extends from the Sorrento peninsula to the volcanic area of Phlegrean fields, and the skyline is dominated by the majestic and still active volcano Vesuvius, offering an impressive sight, perfect to take stunning pictures. Depart for Pompeii where you will have lunch (a real Neapolitan pizza). After lunch, tour of one of the most important archaeological sites in the world: a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the ruins of Pompeii, with Skip the Line entrance. Through the remains and ruins of this ancient city you will learn how the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD destroyed the city, killing its inhabitants and burying it under tons of ash. The site was lost for about 1,500 years until its initial rediscovery and the objects beneath the city have been well-preserved for centuries. Walk along the ancient streets for a glimpse into the lives of the Romans, discovering ancient houses, bakeries and shops and imagine the everyday life in the Roman times. Depart for Sorrento. Dinner at hotel (dress code: jacket for men). Overnight in Sorrento. (L, D)

Day 2                    SORRENTO

Spend the day exploring Sorrento at your own pace. Overnight in Sorrento. (B, D)

Day 3                    SORRENTO – CAPRI 

After breakfast, embark on a boat to the island of Capri. De­pending on weather conditions, you’ll take a boat ride to the popular Blue Grotto, where sunlight passes into an underwater cavity and shines through the seawater creating a magical blue reflection. Return to the port and board a minibus for a scenic drive to Anacapri, 918 feet (280 me­ters) above the sea level. You’ll see wonderful views of the bay of Naples. Free time in Anacapri and Capri. In the afternoon, check into your hotel. Overnight Capri. (B)

Day 4                    CAPRI

Step out early to discover the beauty of Capri at your own pace. Explore the many shops and restaurants of this wonderful island or take a swim in the gulf of Na­ples. Overnight in Capri. (B)

Day 5                    CAPRI – SORRENTO – POSITANO

After breakfast, depart to Sorrento by ferry. Once on the mainland, you will board a coach for Positano, driving along the Amalfi Coast on the most famous road in the Campania region. In Positano, check in at your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at your own pace. Overnight in Positano. (B)

Day 6                    POSITANO

Day at leisure to see all that Positano has to offer. Known for its cubic Empire houses perched upon cliffs looking over turquoise water, Positano is the most well-known summer resort area on the whole peninsula. Walk to the heart of town on Via Pasitea and weave your way through the city’s narrow streets, terraces, and gardens overlooking the bay. Overnight in Positano. (B)

Day 7                    POTIANO – NAPLES 

Enjoy a final breakfast in your hotel before setting off to Naples, where the tour will conclude. End of our services. (B)

–          Accommodation is subject to change without notice. Every effort is made to avoid hotel changes but should a mid-tour hotel change become necessary after this list has been printed, contact details of the new hotel will be supplied to you by your Tour Director.

–          Hotel rooms may not be available for check-in before 2:00 p.m.

–          Hotel taxes, service charges and tips for baggage handling are not included in the tour price.

–          Tour can be a combination of regular tours, therefore coach changes may be required. The same people may not be travelling throughout the tour.

–          For operational reasons, order of itinerary and/or excursions is subject to change at any time. Optional excursions not specified in our itinerary will be suggested by the tour leader.

–          A government tourist tax may need to be paid locally upon arrival at your hotels.

–          During peak season, visiting the Blue Grotto in Capri may involve long lines and limited capacity. If access is not possible, or the weather con­ditions do not allow it, our guides will suggest alternative attractions to ensure a satisfying and memorable tour (e.g., Faraglioni rocks).
