Sorrento & Capri | 5 Days

Day 1                    ROME – POMPEII – SORRENTO

Pick up from your Rome centrally located hotel. Approximate pick up time will be on your voucher.

Your journey begins heading south along the socalled Sun Highway, crossing the fertile Roman countryside and the area known as Castelli Romani, dotted with enchanting medieval villages. Once you reach the town of Pompeii, you will have lunch with the real Neapolitan pizza! After lunch, you will enter into one of the most important archaeological sites in the world: a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the ruins of Pompeii, with Skip the Line entrance and a guided tour. Visit the haunting ruins of Pompeii, traveling back in time to the tragic days in 79 AD when the silent Mount Vesuvius suddenly erupted, covering the prosperous Roman city in deadly volcanic ashes and poisonous gases, leaving this prosperous city crystallized until our days. You’ll learn how people lived at that time, visiting houses and “bars” of the time, admiring frescoes and mosaics to imagine how rich and prosperous was the city before the dreadful day. After the visit, you will drive along the Sorrentine Coast, arriving in Sorrento for dinner (dress code: jacket for men). Overnight in Sorrento. (L, D) 

Day 2                    SORRENTO

Spend a leisurely day exploring Sorrento, the jewel of the Sorrentine peninsula, famous for the cultivation of oranges, lemon, and olive trees. Dinner at your hotel in Sorrento. Overnight in Sorrento. (B, D)

Day 3                    SORRENTO – CAPRI

After breakfast, embark on a boat to the island of Capri. De­pending on weather conditions, you’ll take a boat ride to the popular Blue Grotto, where sunlight passes into an underwater cavity and shines through the seawater creating a magical blue reflection. Free time in Capri. Check-in to your hotel. Overnight Capri. (B)

Day 4                    CAPRI

Step out early to discover the beauty of Capri at your own pace. Explore the many shops and restaurants of this wonderful island or take a swim in the gulf of Na­ples. If the excursion to the Blue Grotto was not possi­ble on day 3 due to sea conditions, you may choose to take the rowboat excursion today. Overnight in Capri. (B)

Day 5                    CAPRI – ROME 

After breakfast, time at leisure. Between 4:00-4:30pm, board the ferry to Naples and then continue to Rome, where the tour will come to an end (estimated arrival in Rome is 9:00 pm). End of our services. (B)

–          Accommodation is subject to change without notice. Every effort is made to avoid hotel changes but should a mid-tour hotel change become necessary after this list has been printed, contact details of the new hotel will be supplied to you by your Tour Director.

–          Hotel rooms may not be available for check-in before 2:00 p.m.

–          Hotel taxes, service charges and tips for baggage handling are not included in the tour price.

–          Tour can be a combination of regular tours, therefore coach changes may be required. The same people may not be travelling throughout the tour.

–          For operational reasons, order of itinerary and/or excursions is subject to change at any time. Optional excursions not specified in our itinerary will be suggested by the tour leader.

–          A government tourist tax may need to be paid locally upon arrival at your hotels.

–          During peak season, visiting the Blue Grotto in Capri may involve long lines and limited capacity. If access is not possible, or the weather con­ditions do not allow it, our guides will suggest alternative attractions to ensure a satisfying and memorable tour (e.g., Faraglioni rocks).
