Immerse yourself in the beautiful traditions of Greek Easter on a cruise that takes you to ten of Greece’s most stunning islands. Experience Orthodox Easter celebrations and observe the Resurrection ceremonies in local churches on Holy Saturday.
DAY 1 – FRIDAY: ATHENS (LAVRION PORT) – KYTHNOS
Embarkation at Lavrion between 14:30-15:30. Enjoy a warm welcome and smooth check-in onboard the Elysium, while you savor a refreshing welcome drink. Afternoon sailing to Kythnos for a swim stop at Kolona Bay beach, famous for its crystal-clear waters and golden sand. Dinner onboard. Late night we set sail for Delos. Overnight at sea. (D)
DAY 2 – SATURDAY: DELOS – MYKONOS Morning arrival at Delos Island, the legendary birthplace of Apollo and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for its extraordinary energy. At midday, we embark for the vibrant island of Mykonos. Onboard, celebrate Greek Holy Saturday with a lunch featuring traditional “magiritsa” soup and the customary “tsougrisma,” the cracking of red Easter eggs. Spend the rest of the day exploring Mykonos and immerse yourself in the enchanting Resurrection ceremonies and festivities at one of the many churches. Regardless of your beliefs, you will be moved by the deep-rooted traditions, candlelit processions, and the spectacular fireworks at midnight. Whether you join the local celebrations, sip a drink at Little Venice during sunset, photograph the iconic windmills, or wander through the charming alleyways of whitewashed Chora filled with boutiques, cafés, restaurants, and clubs, Mykonos offers something for everyone. We will set sail for Naxos in the early morning hours. (B, L)
DAY 3 – SUNDAY: MYKONOS – NAXOS Wake up at a beautiful cove in Naxos for a swim-stop before we sail towards the main port. Lunch onboard. As tradition dictates, we spend the morning slow roasting the Easter lamb on the spit and gathering around the table to feast and celebrate Easter Sunday. On this day Greeks greet each other saying “Christos Anesti” (Christ is risen) and answer “Alithos anesti” (indeed He is risen). Afternoon arrival for a leisurely exploration of Naxos town and its famous “Portara” or join an optional excursion to the Olive Press Museum, a local liquor distillery and the traditional village of Apeiranthos. DAY 4 – MONDAY: NAXOS – PAROS Morning arrival at a stunning beach destination, where crystal-clear waters and breathtaking scenery set the stage for an unforgettable swim stop, weather permitting. Lunch on board. In the afternoon we arrive at Paros, an island famous both for its natural beauty and its cosmopolitan vibe. There are many interesting things to do and discover in Paros, explore the charming fishing villages and quaint towns, enjoy the beautiful beaches or shop at the fancy boutiques. When the night falls it’s time to enjoy the island’s lively nightlife. Overnight at port. (B, L)
DAY 5 – TUESDAY: PAROS – IOS – SANTORINI Sail to Ios island and enjoy a morning swim stop at Magganari Beach, one of the most beautiful sandy beaches in Greece. Lunch onboard. Early afternoon arrival in Santorini, an enchanting island which needs no introduction. Be sure to explore the Akrotiri archaeological site, which provides a captivating insight into Minoan life and culture before it was buried under volcanic ash. The excursion continues with a visit to the Lost Atlantis 9D Experience Museum, the world’s first museum dedicated to the legend of Atlantis. Conclude your day in the stunning village of Oia, where you can select the ideal spot for dinner and witness the renowned Santorini sunset. Afterwards, head back aboard for our overnight sail to Milos Island. (B, L)
DAY 6 – WEDNESDAY: MILOS – KIMOLOS Morning arrival at the volcanic island of Milos, consistently voted best island in the world. Visit the Geological Mining Museum, showcasing the island’s rich geological and mining history and discover the iconic Sarakiniko beach with its milky blue waters and spectacular white rock lunar landscape. In the afternoon we set sail for the pristine Kimolos island, a true hidden gem with only 900 inhabitants. KIMOLOS was once part of Milos but became separated due to an earthquake. Dinner onboard. Evening at leisure to explore the fairy-tale like chora of Kimolos. Overnight at port. (B, D)
DAY 7 – THURSDAY: KIMOLOS – SIFNOS – CAPE SOUNION Early morning arrival at Sifnos, famous for its traditional, white-washed architecture, its hiking trails and its sizzling food scene. Hike one of the many “Sifnos trails” or choose an optional excursion to the medieval ancient castle and the most photographed spot of Sifnos, the church of Seven Martyrs. Explore Apollonia, the picturesque capital, named after the God of light Apollo. Afternoon sailing for Cape Sounion, home to the “Temple of Poseidon” for a dip in the Aegean waters. Perched at the edge of the cliff, the ancient sanctuary is one of the most important monuments of the golden age of Athens. As the sun sets, it’s time for our farewell cocktail & dinner. Late at night we set sail for our return to Athens. (B, D)
DAY 8 – FRIDAY: ATHENS (LAVRION PORT) Breakfast and disembarkation at Lavrion port by 10:00. End of our services. (B)
