Itinerary

DAY 1:                 DUBROVNIK

After arrival, you will be transferred from Dubrovnik airport to the port, where embarkation begins at 1pm. Get settled in your cabin before attending a Welcome reception followed by dinner. Overnight in Dubrovnik. (D)

DAY 2:                 DUBROVNIK – ELAPHITI ISLANDS – SLANO

Start the day with a walking tour of Dubrovnik, the “Pearl of Adriatic”. Walk through Stradun – both a street and a square, the most famous place inside the town walls, enlisted as UNESCO’s World Heritage site, where your guide will show you the most interesting sights of Dubrovnik, and visit the Franciscan Monastery with its Pharmacy. After returning to the ship enjoy the magic scenery as the ship cruises around Dubrovnik city walls to continue to one of the Elaphiti islands for a swim stop. Afternoon arrival in Slano, a peaceful fishermen’s village and our starting point to Ston, situated on Peljesac peninsula and once a fortified small village famous for its oysters. Peljesac peninsula is known as one of the best wine-producing regions in Croatia. After exploring the town, we leave to a small nearby village to enjoy the authentic local oyster tasting. Overnight and Captains Dinner on board in Slano. (B,L,D)

DAY 3:                 SLANO – MLJET – KORCULA

In the morning we head north to the Island of Mljet. Join the Cruise Manager for a stroll to the famous salt lakes in the Mljet National Park. Continue our cruise towards Korčula island, best known as a birthplace of Marco Polo. Afternoon arrival in Korčula followed by a guided walking tour of this enchanting town surrounded by walls, which is one of the best-preserved medieval cities in the Mediterranean. Overnight in Korčula. (B, L)

DAY 4:                 KORCULA – BISEVO – VIS

Early in the morning we sail to the small island of Biševo to visit the Blue Cave, a magnificent natural phenomenon. The visit will depend on weather conditions, however you will be notified of this on the day. Cruise towards the island of Vis, once a strategic naval Yugoslav base and restricted to the public. Due to this isolation, Vis has a special charm – “the Mediterranean as it once was” making it interesting to visit. Taste some exquisite wine sorts in one of the Vis traditional wineries. If interested, visit the remains of the Roman thermal place, City Museum or simply take a walk to enjoy the views. Overnight in the port of Vis. (B, L)

DAY 5:               VIS – HVAR

In the morning head further towards Hvar, the longest and sunniest island in the Adriatic, with a swim stop and lunch on board. Afternoon arrival in Hvar town followed by a tour of the town – visit the many historical sights of the town, such as St Stephen’s Square, the largest piazza in Dalmatia and the main town square, see St Stephen’s Cathedral, the first public theatre in Europe, renaissance-style loggia and its clock tower, the Franciscan monastery. Above Hvar Town is the impressive fortress Fortica/ Spanjola offering magnificent views over the bay and Pakleni islands. After the tour set sail towards Stari Grad on the island of Hvar, one of the oldest cities in Europe. Overnight in Stari Grad. (B,L)

DAY 6:                 HVAR – TROGIR (KRKA NATIONAL PARK)

Early morning departure to the old Dalmatian town Trogir. Trogir is sometimes referred to as “miniature Venice” or a “mini-Dubrovnik” because of its ancient walls, or a “floating museum town” – as it has a masterful architecture including some stunning Venetian palaces. Afterwards, you will discover the beauty of the Krka National Park and the small access port of Skradin where the flora and fauna are exceptional. Overnight in Trogir. (B, L)

DAY 7:                 TROGIR – SPLIT

In the morning join the tour of Trogir with a local tour guide. Set sail to Split with a stop along the way to swim and relax, if weather permits, with lunch on board. In the late afternoon we arrive at Split to spend the night. Arriving in Split, join a guided tour of the city, visit the seafront promenade and Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace. The historical centre of the city is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Your evening is free in Split. (B, L)

DAY 8:                 SPLIT – PLITVICE – OPATIJA

After breakfast it’s time to disembark and bid our crew farewell. We journey north by motorcoach for a visit to Plitvice Lakes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. In Plitvice, we walk around several of the lower lakes. The Park is a natural wonder with 16 terraced lakes surrounded by wooded mountains and lush vegetation. After our visit, we continue onto Opatija. (B, D)

DAY 9:                 OPATIJA – POSTOJNA – VENICE

After breakfast, we travel to Slovenia and visit the unique and beautiful Postojna Cave, one of the largest in Europe. We tour this wondrous subterranean world by miniature electric train. Afterward, we drive to Venice. You will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure until you gather for a dinner with your Tour Director and traveling companions. (B, D)

DAY 10:                             VENICE

We begin exploring Venice with a boat ride to Murano Island, famous for its artistic glassware. Visit a glassblowing factory, where you will watch a demonstration of traditional Venetian glassblowing by master craftsmen. Then, on to St. Mark’s Square, for the walking tour, viewing the St. Mark’s Basilica and the Doge’s Palace, and enjoying views of the Bell Tower and Bridge of Sighs. The remainder of the day is at leisure to enjoy Venice at your own pace, shop, or join an optional gondola ride. (B)

Amazing Adriatic

Review for: Adriatic Princess Split-Split M/S Adriatic Princess

We were a group of 4 adults, who had an amazing Adriatic adventure. We were greeted warmly on arrival, and were throughout the cruise. The cabins were fabulous, and the crew attentive and friendly. A staff member told us that we would start the week as strangers and leave as family. This was indeed the case, and we found it hard to believe that we had only known them all for 7 days. The boat was roomy, with plenty of space for all to find a corner to relax, whilst sailing. The tours, and activities, were informative and enjoyable. The beautiful Adriatic sea was clean and clear, and being able to swim directly off the boat was fantastic. The ports of call were also beautiful, with quaint villages and old towns. We loved Dubrovnik's Old Town the most, with its historical buildings and character. We would highly recommend a cruise with Sun Island, and the transfers and bookings, surrounding our cruise, were all on time and efficient. We will look forward to our next adventure with Sun Island.

Croatia & Adriatic Cruise - M/S Premier

Review for: From Croatia to Italy Cruise & Stay - M/S Premier

This tour was the 2nd week of October and the last tour of the season. That came with both positives and negatives. First the positives: 1. Great Tour Managers: Gabby on land and Zoran on the MS Premier. They (and the entire crew) were extremely friendly and helpful! 2. Great itinerary with magnificent scenery! 3. Good food and lots of it! 4. Lots of plugs in your room. 5. Adequate storage space. 6.. The ship was attractive and clean, and the small numbers allowed the passengers and crew to get to know each other well. 7. During the 2nd week of October, there were no crowds at all in ports which was great, and it was not hot on the walking tours, but at times it was nippy. Negatives: 1. It was too cold to swim except on the last day, and we got some strong winds. We could not enjoy sitting on the ship decks for most of the trip, but everyone went on deck to take photos. 2. The heating and air conditioning on the Premier is controlled by the Captain. The entire ship must be set on either air conditioning or heat. This was a problem for passengers on the lower deck. It was way too hot and stuffy when the heat was turned on at night. If you were upstairs, you could open your balcony door if it got too hot, but downstairs we had to turn the ventilation off completely. This would not be a problem during the summer when the AC would be on the entire time. 3. If you take the last cruise of the year, the bar begins to run out of certain items towards the end of the cruise. 4. The bath products were minimal. You got individual packets of body wash/shampoo, but no conditioner. or lotions, and there was only one tiny waste basket in the bathroom. They needed a waste basket in the room.

Excellent vessel

Review for: Beauty Cruise Split - Split M/S Equator

The cruise ship 'Avangard' is an excellent vessel. An almost brand new vessel with spacious living areas, luxurious ensuite cabins which were regularly refreshed, gourmet meals. Highly competent captain and sailing crew. Dedicated, skilled and friendly waiting/bar staff, Very knowledgeable and accommodating tour leader. The Split (to Dubrovnik) to Split 7-day tour itinerary was brilliant. So much to see and do, with excellent shore excursions.
