Itinerary

DAY 1:                  SPLIT

After arrival, you will be transferred from Split airport to the port, where embarkation begins at 2pm. Get settled in your cabin before attending a Welcome Reception followed by dinner. (D)

DAY 2:                 SPLIT – TROGIR (KRKA NATIONAL PARK)

In the morning join a guided tour of Split. Visit the seafront promenade and Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace. The historical centre of the city is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Set sail to the old Dalmatian

town of Trogir. Trogir is sometimes referred to as “miniature Venice” or a “mini Dubrovnik” because of its ancient walls, or a “floating museum town” – as it has a masterful architecture including some stunning Venetian palaces. After disembarking in Trogir we take the bus to visit Krka National Park. You will discover the pristine nature and waterfalls of the Krka National Park, an area extremely rich with flora and fauna. Overnight in Trogir. (B, L)

DAY 3:                  TROGIR – HVAR

Morning guided tour of Trogir with a local tour guide. Afterwards, enjoy sailing towards Stari Grad on the Island of Hvar, swim stop and lunch on board. Stari Grad is one of the oldest towns in Europe with many friendly and affordable conobas and restaurants in the backstreets of the old town. The Stari Grad Plain and the old town centre of Stari Grad have been listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 2008. Your evening is free to explore Stari Grad on your own. (B,L)

DAY 4:                 HVAR – VIS

Depart Stari Grad in the morning towards the city of Hvar. A sightseeing tour of Hvar town shows you many historical sites, such as St Stephen’s Square and Cathedral, the Arsenal with the theatre built on its first floor, the first municipal theatre in Europe. Above the town is the impressive fortress Fortica offering magnificent views over the bay and Pakleni islands. Afterwards continue to Vis. The town of Vis is on the northern side of the island and was developed near the remains of ancient Issa, the first urban centre in Croatia, formed by the Greeks in 4th century B.C. Visit the remains of the Roman Baths, Church or Our Lady and City Museum or take a walk enjoying the view of the beautiful Villae Rusticae situated along the coast. Your evening is free in Vis. (B, L)

DAY 5:                 VIS – BISEVO – KORCULA

Leaving Vis, we will have an early morning cruise towards Biševo island to visit the Blue Cave, a magnificent natural phenomenon on the islet Biševo just in front of the town of Komiža. Possibility of our visit will depend on weather conditions; however, you will be notified of this on the day. Afterwards, cruise towards Korčula, and the island’s main settlement, known as the birthplace of Marco Polo, one of the world’s most famous explorers of all times. Stop for lunch in one of the secluded bays en route. Afternoon arrival in Korčula followed by a guided walking tour of one of the best-preserved medieval cities in the Mediterranean. Korčula has variety of different restaurants, bars, and clubs for those looking for evening entertainment. Overnight in Korčula. (B, L)

DAY 6:                 KORCULA – MLJET – SLANO

In the morning head further south to the Island of Mljet. Join the Cruise Manager for a stroll to the famous salt lakes in the Mljet National Park. Alternatively, you can rent bicycles, scooters, or kayaks to explore the National Park or island on your own. Lunch on board and departure for a small village called Slano on the mainland. Slano is a peaceful fishermen’s village, and the starting point to Ston, situated on Pelješac peninsula, a fortified small village famous for its oysters. Pelješac peninsula is known as one of the best wine-producing regions in Croatia. After exploring the town, we leave to a small nearby village to enjoy the authentic local oyster tasting. Tonight, enjoy Captain’s dinner and overnight in Slano. (B, L, D)

DAY 7:                 SLANO – ELAPHITI ISLANDS – DUBROVNIK

Early morning cruise to Elaphiti islands with a swim stop on one of the secluded bays. Continue sailing to Dubrovnik, and, before we moor at the port, we cruise alongside the old city walls. After docking, join a guided tour at the historical centre of Dubrovnik, walk through Stradun – both a street and a square, the most famous place inside the town walls, enlisted as UNESCO’s World Heritage site. Your guide will show you the most interesting sights of the Old Town and visit the Franciscan Monastery with its Pharmacy. After the city tour, you will be on your own to explore the city, visit City Walls, the Franciscan Monastery with Europe’s second oldest pharmacy, the Rector’s Palace, and the Cathedral, or take a boat ride to Lokrum island or take the cable car to the top of the Mount Srđ. Overnight in Dubrovnik. (B, L)

DAY 8:                 DUBROVNIK

After breakfast it’s time to disembark. You will be transferred to your Dubrovnik hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure until you gather with your Tour Director and fellow travellers for a Welcome Dinner. (B, D)

On a morning walking tour of Old Dubrovnik visit the Rector’s Palace, and see the Bell Tower Clock, Orlando’s Column, Sponza Palace, the Dominican Monastery, and Franciscan Monastery with its Pharmacy, one of the oldest in the world. The rest of the day is free or join us for optional excursion home hosted Dubelj with dinner. (B)

In the morning, enjoy a sightseeing tour featuring the historic inner city, built around the Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. Then see the remnants of Split’s Roman heritage,

its Renaissance and Gothic structures, Jupiter’s Temple, the Peristyle, and the Cathedral. The rest of the day is at leisure to stroll through the beautiful streets of Split, enjoy at the beach or join us on an optional excursion to the jet-set spot of the rich and famous – the island of Hvar. (B)

DAY 12:              SPLIT – TROGIR – PLITVICE

After breakfast, head to Trogir, the centre of artistic activities. Scholars from around the world gather here to study and paint. Then, turn inland and travel to spectacular Plitvice Lakes National Park. Have your camera ready as you take a walking tour around the lower lakes. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of this natural wonder of sixteen terraced lakes surrounded by thickly wooded mountains and lush vegetation. (B, D)

DAY 13:              PLITVICE – OPATIJA – POSTOJNA – BLED

Return to the coast and travel along the beautiful bay of Kvarner to its popular resort, Opatija. After a bit of free time, the journey continues north to Postojna, home to one of the largest caves in Europe. Tour this fantastic subterranean world by miniature electric train. Afterward, continue to Bled, beautifully set in the Julian Alps. (B, D)

DAY 14:              BLED

An Alpine Lake surrounded by high peaks, Bled was “discovered” by travellers in the middle of the 19th century. Since then, a small town of hotels, villas, and restaurants has developed around the lake, turning Bled into a lively, all-seasons resort. A sightseeing tour features the charming town and the lakeshore, and visits imposing Bled Castle, perched on a cliff high above the lake. The balance of the day is at leisure. Perhaps join an optional excursion visiting the small island in the middle of the lake, browse through the shops and boutiques, or relax and enjoy the enchanting scenery. (B)

This morning, enjoy a city tour featuring the historic Upper Town, St. Mark’s Church, St. Catherine’s Church, the Cathedral, Parliament, and Government Palace. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the winding streets of the old town or take an optional excursion to see the countryside. (B)

Amazing Adriatic

Review for: Adriatic Princess Split-Split M/S Adriatic Princess

We were a group of 4 adults, who had an amazing Adriatic adventure. We were greeted warmly on arrival, and were throughout the cruise. The cabins were fabulous, and the crew attentive and friendly. A staff member told us that we would start the week as strangers and leave as family. This was indeed the case, and we found it hard to believe that we had only known them all for 7 days. The boat was roomy, with plenty of space for all to find a corner to relax, whilst sailing. The tours, and activities, were informative and enjoyable. The beautiful Adriatic sea was clean and clear, and being able to swim directly off the boat was fantastic. The ports of call were also beautiful, with quaint villages and old towns. We loved Dubrovnik's Old Town the most, with its historical buildings and character. We would highly recommend a cruise with Sun Island, and the transfers and bookings, surrounding our cruise, were all on time and efficient. We will look forward to our next adventure with Sun Island.

Croatia & Adriatic Cruise - M/S Premier

Review for: From Croatia to Italy Cruise & Stay - M/S Premier

This tour was the 2nd week of October and the last tour of the season. That came with both positives and negatives. First the positives: 1. Great Tour Managers: Gabby on land and Zoran on the MS Premier. They (and the entire crew) were extremely friendly and helpful! 2. Great itinerary with magnificent scenery! 3. Good food and lots of it! 4. Lots of plugs in your room. 5. Adequate storage space. 6.. The ship was attractive and clean, and the small numbers allowed the passengers and crew to get to know each other well. 7. During the 2nd week of October, there were no crowds at all in ports which was great, and it was not hot on the walking tours, but at times it was nippy. Negatives: 1. It was too cold to swim except on the last day, and we got some strong winds. We could not enjoy sitting on the ship decks for most of the trip, but everyone went on deck to take photos. 2. The heating and air conditioning on the Premier is controlled by the Captain. The entire ship must be set on either air conditioning or heat. This was a problem for passengers on the lower deck. It was way too hot and stuffy when the heat was turned on at night. If you were upstairs, you could open your balcony door if it got too hot, but downstairs we had to turn the ventilation off completely. This would not be a problem during the summer when the AC would be on the entire time. 3. If you take the last cruise of the year, the bar begins to run out of certain items towards the end of the cruise. 4. The bath products were minimal. You got individual packets of body wash/shampoo, but no conditioner. or lotions, and there was only one tiny waste basket in the bathroom. They needed a waste basket in the room.

Excellent vessel

Review for: Beauty Cruise Split - Split M/S Equator

The cruise ship 'Avangard' is an excellent vessel. An almost brand new vessel with spacious living areas, luxurious ensuite cabins which were regularly refreshed, gourmet meals. Highly competent captain and sailing crew. Dedicated, skilled and friendly waiting/bar staff, Very knowledgeable and accommodating tour leader. The Split (to Dubrovnik) to Split 7-day tour itinerary was brilliant. So much to see and do, with excellent shore excursions.
