DAY 1: ZAGREB
Upon arrival, transfer from Zagreb airport to the tour hotel. Dinner and overnight in Zagreb. (D)
DAY 2: ZAGREB – OPATIJA After breakfast, enjoy a guided walking tour of Zagreb with an English-speaking guide. Explore the historic Upper Town, where highlights include St. Mark’s Church with its distinctive multi-coloured tiled roof, the Parliament building, the Government Palace, and a range of beautifully preserved historic architecture. Following the sightseeing tour, continue towards the scenic Kvarner Bay region to reach Opatija, widely regarded as the birthplace of Croatian tourism. Once a favoured seaside retreat of the Habsburg aristocracy, Opatija has long been associated with elegance and wellness, attracting notable figures such as Mahler, Chekhov and Isadora Duncan. DAY 3: OPATIJA – PULA – ROVINJ – OPATIJA Today we explore the Istrian Peninsula, beginning with a visit to the remarkable 2,000-year-old Roman amphitheatre in Pula. We then continue to the coastal gem of Rovinj, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful towns in Istria and a long-time inspiration for artists, where you will enjoy time at leisure. The journey continues inland to Motovun for a tasting of one of Istria’s most prized delicacies-the truffle-before returning for dinner and overnight in Opatija. (B)
DAY 4: OPATIJA – PLITVICE – ZADAR An early start is required, and comfortable walking shoes are recommended, as today we explore one of Croatia’s most spectacular natural wonders- Plitvice Lakes National Park. The park features 16 interconnected lakes and a series of breathtaking waterfalls, best discovered on foot. During the visit, enjoy a scenic boat ride across the emerald waters of Lake Kozjak, offering a unique perspective of the park’s turquoise landscapes. The guided visit lasts approximately three hours. Afterwards, continue to Zadar for dinner at the hotel restaurant and an overnight stay. (B, D)
DAY 5: ZADAR – SPLIT After breakfast, enjoy time exploring the historic city of Zadar. Highlights include the ancient Roman Forum dating back to the 1st century AD, the 9th-century Church of St. Donatus, and the world-famous Sea Organ, a unique architectural sound installation powered by the movement of the Adriatic Sea. From Zadar, continue into the Dalmatian hinterland for a visit to a local winery, where a tasting of authentic regional wines and international cuvées is paired with delicious Croatian-style tapas. Afterwards, travel onwards to Split for an overnight stay. (B)
DAY 6: SPLIT – TROGIR – SPLIT Discover the historic city of Split, where centuries of history come together within the UNESCO-listed Diocletian’s Palace, originally built as the retirement residence of the Roman Emperor Diocletian. Later, enjoy a traditional Dalmatian lunch at Tragos Restaurant in Trogir before exploring this UNESCO-listed town, renowned for its rich Greek, Roman and Venetian heritage, medieval streets, palaces and impressive coastal fortifications. Overnight in Split. (B, L)
DAY 7: SPLIT – STON – DUBROVNIK En route to Dubrovnik, stop near the historic town of Ston to visit a local winery and sample the renowned Plavac Mali wine, closely related to Zinfandel. This family-run winery has passed down its winemaking traditions through generations, offering insight into the region’s rich wine heritage. The visit includes a presentation on the winemaking process, wine tasting and a light snack. Continue to Dubrovnik for dinner and an overnight stay. (B, D)
DAY 8: DUBROVNIK Today, embark on a sightseeing tour of Dubrovnik, the beautifully preserved 13th-century city surrounded by impressive medieval walls that encircle the Old Town. Enter through one of the historic gates, cross the stone bridge beneath the statue of Saint Blaise, and stroll along the famous Stradun, the city’s elegant limestone promenade. After the guided tour, enjoy free time to explore Dubrovnik at your own pace before returning for an overnight stay. (B)
DAY 9: DUBROVNIK After breakfast, transfer to Dubrovnik airport. End of services. (B)
