Northern Spain & The Coast | Guided Group Tour | 12 Days

DAY 1:                                MADRID – MERIDA – SEVILLE

Depart from selected Madrid hotels at approximately 8:15 am, or from the bus terminal at Calle Ferraz 3, Madrid, at 7:30 am – 8:00 am. (Please refer to your voucher for detailed pickup information or instructions if you need to make your own way to the terminal).

Depart towards the Spanish border to arrive in Mérida. Free time to explore its impressive archaeological site, featuring the Roman Theatre and Amphitheatre, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then, continue along the “Autovia de la Plata” (Silver Route) towards Andalucia, arriving in Seville. Dinner and overnight in Seville. (D)

DAY 2:                                SEVILLE

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of Seville, including Maria Luisa Park, Plaza de España, the exterior of the magnificent Seville Cathedral and Giralda, and the charming Santa Cruz Quarter, with its picturesque squares and narrow streets. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Seville. (B)

DAY 3:                                SEVILLE – CORDOBA

Breakfast and departure for Cordoba. On arrival, enjoy a walking tour beginning at Almodovar Gate and continuing through the historic Jewish Quarter, followed by a visit to the magnificent Mosque-Cathedral. The afternoon is at leisure to explore at your own pace. Dinner and overnight in Cordoba. (B, D)

DAY 4:                                CORDOBA – RONDA – COSTA DEL SOL

After breakfast, travel along the scenic Route of the White Villages to Ronda. Enjoy free time to explore this picturesque Andalusian town before continuing to the Costa del Sol. Dinner and overnight on the Costa del Sol. (B, D)

DAY 5:                                COSTA DEL SOL – GRANADA

Breakfast and departure for Granada. Visit the spectacular Alhambra and Generalife, former residence of the Moorish kings, renowned for their magnificent architecture, fountains and gardens. Dinner and overnight in Granada. (B, D)

Note: If the Patronato of the Alhambra and Generalife do not grant tickets for participants to visit the Alhambra and Generalife, a tour of the city of Granada will be provided instead. Visit to the Palace of Carlos V, the Archaeological Museum, Church of Santa María de la Alhambra, Royal Chapel, and a walk through the city Alcaiceria (silk market) and the Cathedral Square.

DAY 6:                                GRANADA – VALENCIA

After breakfast, depart for Valencia, travelling via Guadix, Baza and Puerto Lumbreras towards Spain’s Mediterranean coast. Arrive in Valencia and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight in Valencia. (B)

Note, departures in 2027: Jun 26; Oct 16 will stay overnight in the city of Alicante instead of Valencia.

DAY 7:                                 VALENCIA – BARCELONA

Departures till 18 Mar 2027: Following breakfast, enjoy some free time in Valencia. At mid-morning depart Valencia for Barcelona. Overnight in Barcelona. (B)

Note, for logistical reasons, the sightseeing tour of Barcelona may be performed in the afternoon upon arrival instead of the morning of day 8.

Departures from 19 Mar 2027: Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy some free time in Valencia before departing in the late morning for Barcelona. Upon arrival, enjoy a panoramic sightseeing tour featuring Montjuïc, offering spectacular city views, the Olympic Ring, the Columbus Monument and the iconic Sagrada Família. Overnight in Barcelona. (B)

DAY 8:                                 BARCELONA

Departures till 18 Mar 2027: After breakfast enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of Barcelona visiting the Park of Montjuic with spectacular views, Olympic Ring, monument to Columbus and the old Gothic Quarter. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight in Barcelona. (B)

Departures from 19 Mar 2027: Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a full day at leisure to explore Barcelona at your own pace. Overnight in Barcelona. (B)

DAY 9:                                BARCELONA – ZARAGOZA – PAMPLONA

Breakfast and departure for Zaragoza. Enjoy a brief stop with free time to visit the impressive Basilica of Nuestra Señora del Pilar, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Continue to Pamplona, renowned for its famous San Fermín festival and charming historic centre. Overnight in Pamplona. (B, D*)

DAY 10:                              PAMPLONA – SAN SEBASTIAN – BILBAO – SANTANDER

Departures till 18 Mar 2027: Breakfast at your hotel. Depart for San Sebastian, one of the most elegant cities in Northern Spain. Free time to stroll along La Concha Bay or enjoy the old town. Continue to Bilbao, the capital of the province of Biscay, with a brief stop to admire the avant-garde Guggenheim Museum building. The journey then continues to Santander for dinner and an overnight stay. (B, D)

Departures from 19 Mar 2027: Breakfast and departure for San Sebastián, one of northern Spain’s most elegant coastal cities. Enjoy a short panoramic tour before ascending Mount Igueldo for magnificent views over the city and bay. Continue to Bilbao, with a brief stop to admire the striking architecture of the Guggenheim Museum. The journey then continues to Santander. Dinner and overnight in Santander. (B, D)

DAY 11:                              SANTANDER – SANTILLANA – COVADONGA – OVIEDO

Breakfast and departure for Santillana del Mar, a beautifully preserved medieval town recognised as a National Monument. Continue through the picturesque landscapes of northern Spain to Covadonga, with free time to visit its famous Sanctuary. Afterwards, travel to Oviedo. Overnight in Oviedo. (B, D*)

DAY 12:                              OVIEDO – SALAMANCA – MADRID

Breakfast and departure for Salamanca. Enjoy a brief stop with free time to explore the historic centre and admire its magnificent Baroque-style Plaza Mayor. Continue to Madrid, where the tour concludes upon arrival. Hotel drop-off is not included, and travellers will need to make their own way to their accommodation. (B)
