Discover Spain’s historic cities, coast, and scenic northern towns.

  • Mérida and Seville exploration – visit Mérida’s Roman Theatre and Amphitheatre, then enjoy Seville’s iconic sights including Plaza de España, the Cathedral, and Santa Cruz neighborhood.
  • Historic Córdoba and scenic Ronda – walking tour of Córdoba’s Jewish Quarter and Mosque/Cathedral, then travel through the White Villages to Ronda.
  • Alhambra in Granada and Mediterranean coast – explore the Alhambra and Generalife, followed by a journey along the coast to Valencia and Barcelona.
  • Northern Spain and Santander – visit Zaragoza’s Basilica, stroll San Sebastián, admire Bilbao’s Guggenheim Museum, and enjoy scenic Covadonga and Oviedo.

Itinerary

DAY 1:                                MADRID – MERIDA – SEVILLE

Depart from selected Madrid hotels at approximately 8:15 AM, or from the bus terminal at Calle Ferraz 3, Madrid, at 8:00 AM. (Please refer to your voucher for detailed pickup information or instructions if you need to make your own way to the terminal. Be at the terminal no later than 7:45 AM).

Depart towards the Spanish border to arrive in Mérida. Free time to explore its impressive archaeological site, featuring the Roman Theatre and Amphitheatre, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Lunch at leisure. We then continue along the “Autovia de la Plata” (Silver Route) towards Andalucia, arriving in Seville. Dinner and overnight in Seville. (B, D)

DAY 2:                                SEVILLE

Morning city sightseeing tour, including María Luisa Park, Plaza de España, the exterior of the city’s stunning Cathedral and its bell tower, called Giralda and the typical neighbourhood of Santa Cruz with its streets, squares, and narrow alleys. If you wish, you can optionally navigate the Guadalquivir River, during which you will enjoy a panoramic view of the Gold Tower and Expo 92 or visit to the Maestranza bullring. Overnight Seville. (B)

DAY 3:                                SEVILLE – CORDOBA

After breakfast, depart for Cordoba. Enjoy a walking tour starting at Almodovar Gate, through the Jewish Quarter and continue for a visit of the famous Mosque/Cathedral. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight Cordoba. (B, D)

DAY 4:                                CORDOBA – RONDA – COSTA DEL SOL

Depart to the Route of White Villages and Ronda. After some free time, continue to Torremolinos on the Costa del Sol where you have the afternoon at leisure. Overnight Costa del Sol. (B, D)

DAY 5:                                COSTA DEL SOL – GRANADA

Departure to Granada. Visit to the spectacular group of monuments of the Alhambra and Generalife, former residence of the Moorish kings, with its magnificent fountains, gardens, and arches. Overnight Granada. (B, D)

Note: If the Patronato of the Alhambra and Generalife do not grant tickets for participants to visit the Alhambra and Generalife, a tour of the city of Granada will be provided instead. Visit to the Palace of Carlos V, the Archaeological Museum, Church of Santa María de la Alhambra, Royal Chapel, and a walk through the city Alcaiceria (silk market) and the Cathedral Square.

DAY 6:                                GRANADA – VALENCIA

Depart via Guadix, Baza and Puerto Lumbreras towards the Mediterranean coast and arrive in Valencia. Overnight Valencia. (B)

DAY 7:                                 VALENCIA – BARCELONA

Morning is free to explore Valencia at leisure. Mid-morning, depart for Barcelona. Overnight Barcelona. (B)

Note, for logistical reasons, the sightseeing tour of Barcelona may be performed in the afternoon upon arrival instead of the morning of day 8.

DAY 8:                                 BARCELONA

After breakfast enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of Barcelona visiting the Park of Montjuic with spectacular views, Olympic Ring, monument of Columbus and the old Gothic Quarter. The afternoon is at leisure. Overnight Barcelona. (B)

DAY 9:                                BARCELONA – ZARAGOZA – PAMPLONA

After breakfast, depart for Zaragoza, with a brief stop for free time to explore the Basilica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar, the Patroness of the Hispanic world. Continue onward to Pamplona, renowned for the San Fermín festival and its picturesque old town. Dinner and overnight in Pamplona. (B, D)

Note, departures in 2026: JUL 4, will stay overnight in a city near Pamplona instead of Pamplona.

DAY 10:                              PAMPLONA – SAN SEBASTIAN – BILBAO – SANTANDER

Breakfast at your hotel. Depart for San Sebastian, one of the most elegant cities in Northern Spain. Free time to stroll along La Concha Bay or enjoy the old town. Continue to Bilbao, the capital of the province of Biscay, with a brief stop to admire the avant-garde Guggenheim Museum building. The journey then continues to Santander for dinner and an overnight stay. (B, D)

DAY 11:                              SANTANDER – SANTILLANA – COVADONGA – OVIEDO

After breakfast, depart for Santillana del Mar, a town designated as a National Monument. Continue through scenic landscapes to Covadonga, where you’ll have free time to visit the Sanctuary. Arrive in Oviedo for dinner and overnight stay. (B, D)

DAY 12:                              OVIEDO – SALAMANCA – MADRID

After breakfast, depart for Salamanca, with a brief stop for free time to explore the historic centre and its iconic Baroque-style Plaza Mayor. Continue onward to Madrid. End of our services upon arrival into Madrid city centre. No hotel drop off. You will need to make your own way to the hotel. (B)
