Visit of the old town centre of Ortigia, with its stunning Piazza Duomo and Cathedral. Proceed to Noto, the capital of Sicilian baroque also called the “stone garden”, full of beautiful buildings and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. A walk through the streets of the centre to admire the skill and ingenious creativity of local craftsmen. The first stop will be at Cala Rossa, whose cliffs consist of splendid tuff quarries surrounded by a crystal-clear turquoise sea. Next you will reach Bue Marino and Cala Azzurra with its white sandy beach and the most transparent sea on the island-and Lido Burrone, where you will have time for a dip. You will then enjoy a relaxing break for a typical lunch aboard the boat once you reach the south side of the island (Marasolo/ Preveto). There will also be time for snorkelling or swimming to discover the picturesque cove. But it is toward the waterfront that you will be confronted with an enchanted scenery similar to a painting: the small port of Favignana shows all its wonders of fishing nets, boats and anchors. Water lovers can take a dip in the sea in one of the splendid “creeks” offered by the island or, alternatively, choose to take an optional boat trip to Levanzo, a small fishing village where you can have a taste of granitas or homemade ice cream. Overnight Favignana. (B, D)
