Rome, Florence & Cinque Terre by Rail | Self Guided Tour | 8 Days

DAY 1:                                      ROME 

Upon arrival, you will be transferred from Rome Fiumicino airport to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to discover the city at your own pace. Overnight in Rome. 

DAY 2:                                      ROME 

After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy the city with a hop on/hop off open bus tour (ticket included), which can also be used for getting around. Take this opportunity to visit the Colosseum, Piazza Navona, the Trevi Fountain, and the Pantheon. Overnight in Rome. (B) 

DAY 3:                                      ROME 

Breakfast at the hotel and day at leisure to discover more of Rome. We recommend a visit to the Vatican Museums to admire Michelangelo’s famous Sistine Chapel and other masterpieces of the Italian Renaissance. Overnight in Rome. (B) 

DAY 4:                                      ROME – FLORENCE 

After breakfast at the hotel, make your own way to Rome Termini station to board the high-speed train to Florence; the journey takes about 1 hour 30 minutes. After arriving, make your own way to your hotel and enjoy free time to explore Florence at your own leisure. Take this opportunity to visit Piazza della Repubblica, Piazza della Signoria, and the Ponte Vecchio. Overnight in Florence. (B) 

DAY 5:                                      FLORENCE – CHIANTI – FLORENCE 

After breakfast at the hotel, today you will have the chance to discover the famous Chianti area and its rolling hills with a half-day tour from Florence. This tour will allow you to get away from the noise and crowds of the city and enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the world-famous Tuscan countryside. Your journey through the Chianti wine region begins with a visit to a beautiful family-run estate, whose belief is that making wine is an art. You will have the opportunity to walk around the small vineyards on the hills above Greve in Chianti, where the family produces their fine Chianti wines, and explore the cellars while learning about the wine making and aging process. You will not be able to leave before having tasted Chianti wine accompanied by local products. Return to Florence for overnight. (B) 

DAY 6                                       FLORENCE – MONTEROSSO (CINQUE TERRE) 

After breakfast at the hotel, make your own way to the train station. Board the regional train to Monterosso with a change in Pisa or La Spezia. The journey takes about 3 hours. Upon arrival, make your own way to your hotel. The two-day Cinque Terre Train Card is included, which allows access to the National Park area and the use of regional trains and local buses that connect the villages. Overnight in Monterosso. (B) 

DAY 7:                                      MONTEROSSO 

Breakfast at the hotel, then a free day to continue exploring the Cinque Terre. Overnight in Monterosso. (B) 

DAY 8                                        MONTEROSSO 

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, before checking out. End of our services. (B)

• Child policy: Children aged 0-2.99 years travel free of charge, however, a seat on the train will NOT be provided. The seat on the train and the bed in the hotel will be shared with the parents. Baby cots are on request and a supplement may need to be paid directly to the hotel.
• Class of rail ticket is based on 2^nd class unless the optional upgrade to 1^st class has been selected at the time of booking.
