Highlights of Sardinia | Guided Small Group Tour | 7 Days

DAY 1:                                   CAGLIARI  

Upon arrival at Cagliari Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Cagliari.  

DAY 2:                                   CAGLIARI   

After breakfast, meet your local guide for a walking tour of Cagliari’s historic quarters-Castello, Stampace, and Marina-featuring the Bastion of Saint Remy, the Elephant Tower, and the Cathedral of Santa Maria. Spend the remainder of the afternoon at leisure. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Cagliari. (B) 

DAY 3:                                   CAGLIARI – NUORO – ORGOSOLO – ALGHERO  

Begin the day with a traditional breakfast in Cagliari, then journey into Barbagia, one of Sardinia’s most authentic regions. Stop first in Nuoro, noted for its museums and artisan heritage, before heading into the mountains for a memorable shepherds’ lunch featuring classic Sardinian dishes amid pristine nature. Continue to Orgosolo, renowned for its colourful murals and deep-rooted pastoral traditions, then travel onward to Alghero for an overnight stay. (B, L) 

DAY 4:                                   ALGHERO – PALMAVERA – CAPO CACCIA – ALGHERO    

Start the day with a guided walk through Alghero’s charming old town, known for its Catalan heritage and elegant architecture. Savour a traditional Sardinian lunch at a local estate before visiting the ancient Nuragic site of Palmavera, home to remarkable Bronze Age ruins. End the day at Capo Caccia, taking in breathtaking cliffside views, then return to Alghero. Overnight in Alghero. (B, L) 

DAY 5:                                   ALGHERO – CASTELSARDO – TEMPIO PAUSANIA – OLBIA  

Travel east across Sardinia, stopping first in Castelsardo, a hilltop coastal town overlooking the Costa Paradiso. Explore its medieval centre and enjoy the view. Continue inland to Tempio Pausania, a peaceful town rich in granite buildings and baroque churches. Enjoy a traditional Sardinian lunch, featuring local specialties. After lunch, proceed with a tour of Tempio Pausania. Later, continue your journey to Olbia, a lively port town known for its beautiful beaches and connection to the Costa Smeralda. (B, L) 

DAY 6:                                   OLBIA – COSTA SMERALDA (PORTO ROTONDO – PORTO CERVO) – OLBIA   

Spend the morning discovering the Costa Smeralda, including stops in Porto Rotondo and the glamorous Porto Cervo, with free time to explore these stunning coastal towns. Around midday, return to Olbia for some personal time. Stroll through the city, relax by the hotel pool, or enjoy the nearby beach-your afternoon is free to explore at your own pace and make the day entirely your own. (B) 

DAY 7:                                   OLBIA   

After breakfast, departure transfer to Olbia Costa Smeralda airport. End of our services. (B)

• Accommodation is subject to change without notice. Every effort is made to avoid hotel changes but should a mid-tour hotel change become necessary after this list has been printed, contact details of the new hotel will be supplied to you by your Tour Director.
• Tour can be a combination of regular tours; therefore coach changes may be required. The same people may not be travelling throughout the tour.
• If the minimum participant requirement is not met, the bus will operate with two tour leaders, with at least one guaranteed to speak English only.
