DAY 1:                                 MADRID – SALAMANCA – PORTO

Depart from selected Madrid hotels at approximately 8:15 am, or from the bus terminal at Calle Ferraz 3, Madrid, at 7:30 am – 8:00 am. (Please refer to your voucher for detailed pickup information or instructions if you need to make your own way to the terminal).

Depart to Salamanca. Time at leisure to walk through this monumental city and its famous Plaza Mayor. Continue to Porto for an overnight stay.

DAY 2:                                 PORTO

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a panoramic sightseeing tour of Porto, taking in some of the city’s most notable landmarks, including Porto Cathedral, the Stock Exchange Palace and Santa Clara Church. Continue to a local wine cellar for a tasting of the region’s famous Port wine. Overnight in Porto. (B)

DAY 3:                                 PORTO – COIMBRA – FATIMA – LISBON

Breakfast and departure for Coimbra, renowned for its historic university-one of the oldest in Europe-and as the birthplace of fado. Enjoy some free time before continuing to Fátima, a major pilgrimage destination. Take time to visit the Basilica and Sanctuary, then journey onward to Lisbon, Portugal’s capital. Overnight stay in Lisbon. (B)

DAY 3:                                 PORTO – AVEIRO – COIMBRA – FATIMA – LISBON

Breakfast and departure for Aveiro, often referred to as the “Venice of Portugal” for its picturesque canals and colourful boats. Continue to Coimbra, home to one of Europe’s oldest universities and renowned for its distinctive fado tradition. Enjoy free time to explore before travelling to Fátima, one of Portugal’s most important pilgrimage destinations. Free time to visit the Basilica and Sanctuary, followed by the journey to Lisbon, Portugal’s vibrant capital. Overnight in Lisbon. (B)

DAY 4:                                 LISBON

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning panoramic sightseeing tour of this beautiful city, located at the mouth of the Tagus River: Edward VII Park’s hilltop viewpoint, Rossio Square, Liberdade Avenue, Madragoa District (where Fado, the traditional Portugues music was born). We will continue to the Belem District, with its famous Tower, Monument to the Navigators, and Los Jeronimos Monastery. Free afternoon. Overnight in Lisbon. (B)

DAY 5:                                LISBON – MERIDA – SEVILLE

Breakfast at the hotel before departing towards the Spanish border and continuing to Mérida. Enjoy free time to explore the city’s remarkable Roman heritage, including its impressive Theatre and Amphitheatre, part of Mérida’s UNESCO World Heritage-listed archaeological ensemble. Lunch is at leisure before travelling along the historic Silver Route towards Andalusia and Seville. Dinner and overnight in Seville. (B, D)

DAY 6:                                 SEVILLE

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Seville, taking in the beautiful María Luisa Park and impressive Plaza de España. Admire the exterior of Seville Cathedral and its iconic Giralda bell tower before exploring the charming Santa Cruz neighbourhood, known for its picturesque streets, lively squares and narrow winding lanes. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore independently. Overnight in Seville. (B)

DAY 7:                                SEVILLE – CORDOBA

Breakfast and departure for Cordoba. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided walking tour beginning at Almodóvar Gate and continuing through the historic Jewish Quarter to the magnificent Mosque-Cathedral, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. The afternoon is at leisure to explore at your own pace. Dinner and overnight in Cordoba. (B, D)

DAY 8:                                CORDOBA – RONDA – COSTA DEL SOL

Breakfast and departure along the scenic Route of the White Villages towards Ronda, one of Andalusia’s most picturesque towns. Enjoy free time to explore before continuing to the Costa del Sol. Dinner and overnight in Costa del Sol. (B, D)

DAY 9:                                COSTA DEL SOL

Breakfast at your hotel. Full day at your own leisure. Dinner and overnight at your hotel. (B, D)

DAY 10:                             COSTA DEL SOL

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a full day at leisure to explore on your own. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel. (B, D)

DAY 11:                             COSTA DEL SOL – TANGIER – RABAT – CASABLANCA (FERRY)

Breakfast followed by an early departure for Tarifa, where you’ll board the ferry across the Strait of Gibraltar to Tangier. On arrival, enjoy time to discover this fascinating port city, known for its blend of European and Moroccan influences. Continue to Rabat, Morocco’s capital, to visit the Hassan Tower and Mausoleum of Mohammed V. After lunch, travel onwards to Casablanca, Morocco’s vibrant Atlantic metropolis. Dinner and overnight in Casablanca. (B, D)

DAY 12:                              CASABLANCA – MARRAKECH

After breakfast, enjoy a panoramic tour of Casablanca, taking in its cosmopolitan neighbourhoods and seafront boulevards. Stop outside the impressive Hassan II Mosque, renowned for its striking architecture and towering minaret, with an optional interior visit available. Continue to Marrakesh, where the afternoon is at leisure to begin exploring the medina and lively Jemaa el-Fna Square. Dinner and overnight in Marrakesh. (B, D)

DAY 13:                              MARRAKECH

Breakfast at the hotel. Discover the highlights of Marrakesh, including the beautiful Bahia Palace, Menara Gardens and the exterior of the Koutoubia Mosque. Wander through the colourful souks, where local artisans showcase traditional crafts, before arriving at vibrant Jemaa el-Fna Square. Enjoy lunch followed by an afternoon at leisure to explore at your own pace. Overnight in Marrakesh. (B, L*, D**)

DAY 14:                              MARRAKECH – MOHAMMEDIA – TANGIER

After breakfast, depart north towards Mohammedia, a charming coastal town overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy free time for lunch (lunch not included) and to explore before continuing to Tangier. Arrive in the evening with time at leisure to stroll along the waterfront or relax at the hotel. Dinner and overnight in Tangier. (B, D)

DAY 15:                              TANGIER – TARIFA – COSTA DEL SOL (FERRY)

Breakfast followed by a transfer to the port for the ferry crossing across the Strait of Gibraltar to Tarifa. On arrival in Spain, continue by road to the Costa del Sol. Dinner and overnight on the Costa del Sol. (B, D)

DAY 16:                              COSTA DEL SOL – GRANADA

Breakfast and departure for Granada. Visit the magnificent Alhambra and Generalife, former residence of the Moorish kings and renowned for their beautiful architecture, courtyards, fountains and gardens. Dinner and overnight in Granada. (B, D)

Note: If the Patronato of the Alhambra and Generalife do not grant tickets for participants to visit the Alhambra and Generalife, a tour of the city of Granada will be provided instead. Visit to the Palace of Carlos V, the Archaeological Museum, Church of Santa María de la Alhambra, Royal Chapel, and a walk through the city Alcaiceria (silk market) and the Cathedral Square.

DAY 17:                              GRANADA – TOLEDO – MADRID

After breakfast, departure to the Imperial City of Toledo, full of history and monuments. Lunch and panoramic view from Mirador del Valle and walk through its old town. Continue to Madrid, where the tour concludes upon arrival. Hotel drop-off is not included, and travellers will need to make their own way to their accommodation. (B, L)
