Itinerary

DAY 1:                                MADRID – ZARAGOZA – PAMPLONA

Depart from selected Madrid hotels at approximately 8:15 AM, or from the bus terminal at Calle Ferraz 3, Madrid, at 8:00 AM. (Please refer to your voucher for detailed pickup information or instructions if you need to make your own way to the terminal. Be at the terminal no later than 7:45 AM).

Depart for Zaragoza. Brief stop and free time to visit the Basilica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar, Patroness of the Hispanic world. We then continue to Pamplona, a city famous for the San Fermín festivities and its charming old quarter. Dinner and overnight in Pamplona. (D)

Note, departures in 2026: JUL 12, will stay overnight in a city near Pamplona instead of Pamplona.

DAY 2:                                PAMPLONA – SAN SEBASTIAN – BILBAO – SANTANDER

Breakfast at your hotel. Depart for San Sebastian, one of the most elegant cities in Northern Spain. Free time to stroll along La Concha Bay or enjoy the old town. Continue to Bilbao, the capital of the province of Biscay, with a brief stop to admire the avant-garde Guggenheim Museum building. The journey then continues to Santander for dinner and an overnight stay. (B, D)

DAY 3:                                SANTANDER – SANTILLANA – COVADONGA – OVIEDO

Depart to Santillana del Mar, a medieval village considered as a National Monument. Continue to Covadonga with some free time to visit the Shrine. Proceed to Oviedo for overnight. (B, D)

DAY 4:                                 OVIEDO – LA CORUNA – SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA
After breakfast, departure to region of Galicia. Arrival to La Coruña. Short panoramic tour. We then continue to Santiago de Compostela for dinner and an overnight stay. (B, D)

DAY 5:                                 SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA
Breakfast followed by a city tour of this renowned pilgrimage destination, featuring the iconic Plaza del Obradoiro and the majestic Cathedral, the spiritual and artistic centrepiece of Santiago. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay. (B, D)

DAY 6:                                 SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA – RIAS BAJAS – VIGO

Breakfast and departure for the scenic Rías Baixas region, known as the Spanish Fjords. Enjoy a short stop at La Toja Island before continuing to O Grove, where you can take an optional catamaran cruise to visit oyster and mussel farms, complete with a tasting of fresh mussels and Ribeiro wine. Continue to Vigo for an afternoon at leisure. Overnight in Vigo. (B)

DAY 7:                                 VIGO – VIANA DO CASTELO – BRAGA – PORTO

Cross the Portuguese border and arrive at Viana do Castelo, a city located between the mouth of the Miño River and Porto. Free time to visit the Old Town with its cobbled streets and emblazoned buildings. Continue to Braga known as the city of the archbishops and the third most populated city in Portugal. After some free time, depart for Porto, considered a World Heritage city. Overnight Porto. (B)

DAY 8:                                 PORTO

Panoramic tour of Porto to admire the Cathedral, the Stock Exchange Building, and Santa Clara Church. Visit a local wine cellar to taste the famous Port wine. Overnight Porto. (B)

DAY 9:                                 PORTO – COIMBRA

After breakfast, depart for Coimbra, site of one of the oldest universities in Europe and the birthplace of Fado, the music of Portugal. Time at leisure. Overnight Coimbra. (B, L)

DAY 10:                              COIMBRA – FATIMA – LISBON

After breakfast, travel to Fatima, an important pilgrimage centre. Free time to visit the Shrine and afterwards continue to Lisbon, the capital of Portugal located at the mouth of the Tagus River. Overnight Lisbon. (B)

DAY 11:                              LISBON

Morning panoramic sightseeing tour of this beautiful city, located at the mouth of the Tagus River: Edward VII Park’s hilltop viewpoint, Rossio Square, Liberdade Avenue, Madragoa District (where Fado, the traditional Portugues music was born). We will continue to the Belem District, with its famous Tower, Monument to the Navigators, and Los Jeronimos Monastery. Free afternoon. Overnight Lisbon. (B)

DAY 12:                             LISBON – MERIDA – SEVILLE

Breakfast at your hotel. Depart towards the Spanish border to arrive in Mérida. Free time to explore its impressive archaeological site, featuring the Roman Theatre and Amphitheatre, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Lunch at leisure. We then continue along the “Autovia de la Plata” (Silver Route) towards Andalucia, arriving in Seville. Dinner and overnight in Seville. (B, D)

DAY 13:                              SEVILLE

Morning city sightseeing tour, including María Luisa Park, Plaza de España, the exterior of the city’s stunning Cathedral and its bell tower, called Giralda and the typical neighbourhood of Santa Cruz with its streets, squares, and narrow alleys. If you wish, you can optionally navigate the Guadalquivir River, during which you will enjoy a panoramic view of the Gold Tower and Expo 92 or visit to the Maestranza bullring. Overnight Seville. (B)

DAY 14:                              SEVILLE – RONDA – COSTA DEL SOL
After breakfast, depart along the Route of the White Villages for Ronda. You will have some free time before continuing to Torremolinos on the Costa del Sol where you have the afternoon at leisure. Overnight Torremolinos, Costa del Sol. (B, D)

DAY 15:                             COSTA DEL SOL – GRANADA

After breakfast, depart for Granada. Sightseeing tour visiting the impressive Alhambra and the beautiful gardens of the Generalife. Overnight Granada. (B, D)

Note: If the Patronato of the Alhambra and Generalife do not grant tickets for participants to visit the Alhambra and Generalife, a tour of the city of Granada will be provided instead. Visit to the Palace of Carlos V, the Archaeological Museum, Church of Santa María de la Alhambra, Royal Chapel, and a walk through the city Alcaiceria (silk market) and the Cathedral Square.

DAY 16:                              GRANADA – TOLEDO – MADRID

Following breakfast depart towards the Imperial City of Toledo, full of history and monuments. After lunch, enjoy a panoramic view from Mirador del Valle and walk through its old town. Continue to Madrid. End of our services upon arrival into Madrid city centre. No hotel drop off. You will need to make your own way to the hotel. (B, L)
