Sail the Southern Dalmatia, the perfect blend of culture and adventure
Embarkation commences from 11am. Must be onboard before 12.30 pm. Departure from Split Harbour towards Makarska at 1pm. Cruise along the Dalmatian coast to Makarska whilst enjoying your lunch. We spend the afternoon swimming at one of the beautiful beaches on the Riviera. From this beach, those feeling adventurous can join our white-water rafting excursion on the Cetina River and meet up with the ship in Makarska in the evening. Makarska is one of the most attractive resorts on the Croatian coast. Strolling along the streets of Makarska, you will come across numerous churches and other architectural and cultural sites. Overnight on board in Makarska.
Early morning departure towards Mljet with the first stop on the Peljesac peninsula for a refreshing swim. The whole afternoon is free to visit the salt lakes in Mljet National Park and enjoy the sun and sea on this peaceful island. In the middle of the large lake, inside the National Park, you can visit the monastery and church on St. Mary Isle or just rent a bike (optional) and cycle around these stunning lakes. Overnight on board in Polaca/Pomena.
After breakfast depart for Dubrovnik, the most famous place in Croatia and, for many, the highlight of this cruise. The Irish writer George Bernard Shaw called Dubrovnik “heaven on earth” and we pass a beautiful stretch of coast on our way there. After arrival, you can explore on your own or join our guided city tour (included for Premium and Premium Superior only) followed by an optional cable car ride up to Srđ mountain for spectacular views of the old town. Don’t miss STRADUN –both a street and a square in the old town and try to find time to walk at least part of the, 1940m long city walls which have protected Dubrovnik during earthquakes and attacks! Overnight on board in Dubrovnik.
Morning is free to explore Dubrovnik. Late morning departure towards the island of Šipan or the small town of Trstenik on the Pelješac peninsula, where we will swim in the afternoon and spend the night. There is an option to visit a local winery and to enjoy a Captain’s dinner on board in the evening (included on Premium & Premium Superior only). Overnight on board in Sipan or Trstenik.
After breakfast depart for Korcula, the birthplace of Marco Polo. Lunch on the board in a bay near the town of Korcula. Afternoon arrival where we overnight in port. Surrounded by ancient walls and fortified bastions, Korčula’s old town is very well preserved with its layout and structure dating back to the 13th century. Optional sightseeing of Korčula (included on Premium Superior) or optional wine and appetizer tasting at a local winery. Overnight on board in Korcula.
Early in the morning depart for the Pakleni Islands for lunch and swimming. Depart for Hvar after lunch with an optional sightseeing tour of Hvar Town (included on Premium Superior). Hvar is the longest island in the Adriatic. Here you can find the Renaissance cathedral with its original tower; also, the oldest community theatre in Europe was founded here in 1612. City of Hvar offers an abundance of entertainment, restaurants, bars, and cafes that are open long into the night. Overnight on board in Hvar.
Our next stop will be the island of Brac. Swimming is planned at one of the most famous beaches in Dalmatia – Zlatni Rat near Bol (the Golden cape – its gravel promontory shifts from side to side as the wind and waves constantly change in shape). Bol is a typical fisherman’s town turned into a popular tourist destination. After lunch we will start our journey back to Split where the last overnight is planned. On our way to Split there will be another swim break in one of the many bays on the island of Brac. Arrive at Split in the late afternoon. Enjoy the view of Split Riviera with the possibility to join the optional guided tour of Split with an English-speaking guide. Split is a monumental city under UNESCO protection that belongs not only to Croatians, but also to you, as it is a part of the world heritage. Here we find an abundance of Roman architecture – of special interest is the Diocletian palace. Overnight on board in Split.
Early breakfast after which it is time to say goodbye to the crew and all your new friends! End of our services at Split port.
