Itinerary

Day 1 – Saturday              SPLIT

M/S MAMA MARIJA will be docked in Split harbor, where you can board during the entire day. At 7.00 pm we will have a welcome meeting where the captain will introduce you to the crew and your fellow passengers, followed by a welcome dinner at 7.30 pm. Passengers arriving in the morning will not be able to enter their cabins before 2.00 pm but can leave luggage on board. All the late arriving guests are required to notify staff in advance so a dinner can be prepared and provided. Overnight on board in Split. (D)

Day 2 – Sunday:                SPLIT – TROGIR

Enjoy a morning Split City tour as you walk through the world-famous Diocletian’s Palace. Split is the second largest urban centre in Croatia and the seat of the Split Dalmatia County. Over 1700 years old, Split abounds with cultural and historical sights, lots of them situated within the historical nucleus which has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list ever since 1979. At 12pm we will sail out for Trogir, another city inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Lunch will be served on board, and we will have a swim stop en route, arriving to Trogir in the afternoon. This town – museum is packed with palaces, churches, monasteries and towers, the main attraction being the Cathedral of St. Lawrence, probably the finest example of sacral architecture in Croatia. Enjoy a Trogir city tour, with free time in the evening to explore or have a dinner in one of Trogir’s cozy taverns. Overnight in Trogir. (B, L)

Day 3 – Monday               TROGIR – BOL, BRAC – VIS

In the morning we will sail for Bol, a place best known for its beach of Zlatni Rat (Golden Cape), which regularly hits the top lists of the most beautiful European beaches. Enjoy a walk around this charming Dalmatian town, perhaps having a cup of coffee or a swim, until lunch is served on board. After lunch, continue cruising to Vis. Being an important strategic military stronghold for a long time, Vis was spared the excessive tourist development and thus retained its unspoilt beaches, ecological agriculture and traditional architecture. Enjoy the afternoon exploring the town of Vis, its picturesque stone streets, pristine beaches and fine taverns. An optional Vis Island excursion is available, ending in Komiža, a stunning fishermen’s village to have dinner in one of the cosy restaurants. Reservations and payment made locally. Overnight in Vis Town. (B,L)

Day 4 – Tuesday               VIS – BISEVO – HVAR

We will cruise to the Island of Biševo and its Blue Cave, one of the most famous natural attractions in whole of the Adriatic Sea. The Blue Cave is a waterlogged cave that can be approached only by boat. However, please note, at times high waves prevent the entrance to the Blue Cave. In case we cannot enter due to such sea conditions, you will get a full ticket refund. After a swim stop and lunch, we will continue cruising along the many coves and bays, towards Hvar, the sunniest Croatian island. Hvar is one of the country’s most attractive tourist destinations and a meeting point of international jetsetters. Enjoy a walking tour through this unique city, introducing you to its millennia-long history, culture and a way of life. Afterwards, you will have an evening on your own to explore and dine in one of numerous family-owned restaurants and taverns. Overnight in Hvar. (B, L)

Day 5 – Wednesday       HVAR – KORCULA

Morning departure towards the Island of Korčula. Before lunch, enjoy a swim stop in one of the pristine bays en route. The Town of Korčula is the island’s main settlement and is known as the birthplace of Marco Polo, one of the world’s most famous explorers of all times. Enjoy a tour of Korčula Town, through its narrow and cobbled streets with its rich history. You will have rest of the evening free to enjoy dining at one of the local restaurants of your choice. Overnight in Korčula. (B, L)

Day 6 – Thursday:            KORCULA – MLJET – SLANO

Sailing out from Korčula in the morning, cruise towards Mljet National Park, where you can walk around Great and Small Lake, visit the Islet of St. Mary with its Benedictine Monastery from the 12th century or take a swim in the heart of Mljet National Park. Entrance fees to National Park Mljet are included. Take care to return to the boat for lunch. In the afternoon, continue to Slano, located on the mainland. Slano is one of the most picturesque places on the Dubrovnik Riviera, with a beautiful beach, dense pine forest and olive groves, a long cultural tradition and numerous historical monuments. 2024 departures, optional excursion is available to Ston, a fortified town famous for 5-kilometre long walls, old saltwork and oyster/mussel farm. Reservations and payment made locally. (Ston excursion not available for 2025 departures.) In the evening, we will have Captain’s Dinner on board, along with live music entertainment. Spot-on!

Review for: Sapphire Cruise Split - Dubrovnik

This holiday delivered exactly what our group was looking for, especially after coming back to travel from Covid. I cannot suggest any improvements. The itineary was relaxed and yet informative, a perfect balance of recreation with culture and history. The ship was modern and comfortable and the staff looked after every passenger with ease. The clients were a nice mix of nationalities and we mixed together and really made some great friends. I would highly recommend this cruise and the team at Sun Island made it a breeze to communicate through the whole process. 5 STARS!

MS Oscar Dubrovnik to Split- amazing!!

Review for: Oscar Cruise Dubrovnik-Split

What a fabulous way to see the Dalmatian Coast.  MS Oscar was a beautiful boat… just new and perfect in every way.   The cruise was incredible.  The swimming stops and the islands and places we visited were wonderful and Ana our Cruise Director was fabulous.  Nothing to was difficult.  She kept us informed, giving us information about every stop, best restaurants to visit and potential tours to do.  Loved all the walking tours also.  Very, very happy with our Dalmatian Coast Cruise.  Thank you!!!

Review for: Oscar Cruise Dubrovnik-Split

We recently embarked on a 7 night cruise on the MS Mama Marija (Sapphire Cruise) booked through Sun Island Tours. This cruise was an amazing experience, with unbelievable destinations and activities and just the right amount of relaxing time travelling between destinations. The accommodation, food and service on the boat was fantastic and couldn't really ask for anything more.
