DAY 2:                                   DUBROVNIK

This morning, enjoy a guided walking tour of Old Dubrovnik, including views of the Rector’s Palace, the Bell Tower Clock, Orlando’s Column, Sponza Palace, the Dominican Monastery, and the Franciscan Monastery, home to one of the oldest pharmacies in the world. The afternoon is free for leisure. Overnight in Dubrovnik. (B)

DAY 3:                                   DUBROVNIK – SPLIT

Travel north along the spectacular Adriatic coast, past old fishing villages and modern resorts, enroute to Split. Overnight in Split. (B, D)

DAY 4:                                   SPLIT

In the morning, enjoy a sightseeing tour of the historic inner city, built around the Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover Roman, Renaissance, and Gothic landmarks, including Jupiter’s Temple, the Peristyle, and the Cathedral. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore Split or relax at the beach. Overnight in Split. (B)

DAY 5:                                   SPLIT – TROGIR – PLITVICE

After breakfast, head to Trogir, a hub of artistic and cultural activity. Then travel inland to Plitvice Lakes National Park. (B, D)

DAY 6:                                   PLITVICE – OPATIJA – POSTOJNA – BLED

Return to the coast and travel along scenic Kvarner Bay to the elegant resort town of Opatija. Later, continue to Bled, a picturesque alpine town nestled in the Julian Alps. Overnight in Bled. (B, D)

DAY 7:                                   BLED

Set against the backdrop of towering peaks, Bled was first “discovered” by travellers in the mid-19th century. (B)

DAY 8:                                   BLED – LJUBLJANA – ZAGREB

Leave the mountains and head to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. See the most significant sights of the old city centre on a walking tour.
