Christmas Markets Tour, Zagreb to Munich | Guided Group Tour | 7 Days

DAY 1:                                ZAGREB

On arrival at Zagreb Airport, transfer to your hotel. Enjoy some time at leisure before meeting your fellow travellers and tour director for a welcome dinner. Overnight in Zagreb. (D)

DAY 2:                                ZAGREB

After breakfast, explore the historic Upper Town, including St Mark’s Church and St Catherine’s Church. View the Parliament and Government Palace, then continue to the Cathedral before strolling to Ban Jelačić Square to soak up the festive Christmas market atmosphere. Choose to remain in the city at your leisure or walk back to the hotel with the group, passing the Croatian National Theatre, the Modern Music Academy, and the Mimara Museum. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Zagreb. (B)

DAY 3:                                ZAGREB – LJUBLJANA

After breakfast, we continue to Ljubljana where we will meet our local guide for a city tour. We will walk across the famous Dragon Bridge, through festive squares and streets. Take the funicular railway up to Ljubljana Castle and enjoy a great view of the city, followed by free time to have fun at the Christmas markets with lively music, street food and various events. Overnight at your hotel. (B)

DAY 4:                                LJUBLJANA

Spend the morning getting to know one of the most beautiful natural lakes in the world. We will visit the iconic Bled Castle, overlooking the lake from a cliff above. Continuing by bus, we will continue to Radovljica. The sight where one of the famous Coca Cola Christmas commercials was filmed. In the late afternoon, return to Ljubljana to enjoy this beautiful festive city independently on your own. (B)

DAY 5:                                LJUBLJANA – SALZBURG – MUNICH

In the morning, we will leave Slovenia and continue to Salzburg, the city of Mozart. Besides the well-known sites like Getreidegasse, the Cathedrale, the festival house, we will also view Mozart’ birthplace and the famous “Silent Night” chapel. In the afternoon, you will have time on your own for strolling around the Christmas markets before we continue to Munich. Farewell dinner at a local restaurant. (B)

DAY 6:                                MUNICH

Join a city tour of Munich – the capital of the state of Bavaria. We will view Nymphenburg castle. In past times, the baroque palace was the residence of the monarchs of Bavaria. Next you will see the Residence, Maximilian and Leopold Street, the Opera, the Olympic grounds, the Marienplatz with the city hall and the famous Carillon, church of St. Peter, the Viktualien-market and many more. The afternoon is dedicated to visiting the oldest among the Christmas markets in Munich, Christkindl market at Marienplatz (main square). Farewell dinner at a local restaurant. (B, D)

DAY 7:                                MUNICH

After breakfast, transfer to Munich airport for your return flight home. (B)
