Travel around Italy on this 8 day independent rail package from Milan to Rome
Make your own way to Milan Central Station and take a high-speed train to Turin Porta Nuova. The journey takes about 1 hour. After arriving, check-in to your hotel and enjoy free time exploring the city, the first capital of Italy, which hosts numerous royal palaces and historic coffee houses. We recommend a guided tour to discover the secrets of the city. Overnight in Turin.
Breakfast at the hotel, then free day at disposal in Turin to visit the city or join an optional activity as a guided tour of the Royal Palace or the Egyptian Museum. Alternatively, you can discover the local specialties on an appetizing street food tour. Overnight in Turin.
After breakfast at the hotel, we board the high-speed train to Bologna Centrale. The journey takes about 2h 30m. After arriving, hotel accommodation and free time to visit the city. A one-day hop-on / hop-off ticket is included for the panoramic bus with multilingual audio guide, also including the tasting of a local product. Overnight in Bologna.
Breakfast at the hotel, then free day to continue exploring Bologna or to take advantage of one of the many optional experiences possible. This area is known as the Italian ‘Food Valley’, and there are many options for food enthusiasts: you can participate in a Bolognese cooking class with lunch at the home of a real ‘sfoglina’, one of those ladies who still make egg pasta by hand according to the local ancient recipe. For those who are fond of fast cars and motorcycles, however, this is also the ‘Motor Valley’ of Italy, home to historic brands such as Ferrari, Ducati and Lamborghini. You can visit their factories and museums. Overnight in Bologna.
After breakfast at the hotel, you can still spend some time visiting Bologna. You can climb the 500 steps of the Asinelli Tower, to enjoy a view of the city from above, or take the panoramic train to San Luca (the hill overlooking Bologna) with a multilingual audio guide and taste a local product. Then we board the high-speed train to Verona Porta Nuova; the journey takes less than 1 hour. Depending on the time of arrival, in Verona you can start exploring the city on a presentation walk with a local guide, or you can learn how to prepare the real Italian traditional ice cream in a funny practical class. Overnight in Verona.
Breakfast at the hotel, then day dedicated to visiting the city: a skip-the-line entrance ticket is included to a self-guided visit of the Arena of Verona on one’s own, one of the largest open-place theatres in the world and the main attraction of the city. You can continue to discover what the city offers through one of the many optional visits such as a bicycle tour in the historic centre or you can opt for a food tour and taste local products and wines in the historic shops of Verona. Alternatively, you can choose an excursion outside the city with transport included, to discover the wonderful vineyards of the province, such as the precious Valpolicella Amarone. Overnight in Verona.
After breakfast at the hotel, you can still spend some time visiting Verona or take an optional trip to the Garda Lake with a stop in Sirmione and a boat ride on the lake. Then we board the high-speed train to Rome Termini: the journey takes about 3h 30 ‘. Depending on the arrival time, it is possible to have a half day at disposal in Rome to discover the city or join an optional activity. Overnight in Rome.
Breakfast at the hotel and check-out. End of our services.
