Upon arrival into Tel Aviv, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Short visit to the Negev capital, Beersheba. Continue via Arad to Masada. Ascend by cable car to the fortress. Visit the excavations, Herod’s palaces, the synagogue and bathhouse. Admire the view of the Roman camps and the Dead Sea. Descend for a float in the salty waters of the Dead Sea. Proceed to Jerusalem.
Visit Israel Museum’s Shrine of the Book with the famous Dead Sea scrolls, then visit the renovated Model of the Herodian city of Jerusalem. Continue to Yad Vashem, the memorial to the six million Jews who were killed in the Holocaust. Visit Ein Karem, the birth place of John the Baptist. Visit Bethlehem with the Church of the Nativity and Manger Square. Return to Jerusalem.
*Bethlehem is under the Palestinian Authority Jurisdiction and therefore the visit is subject to confirmation on the day.
Enter the Old City of Jerusalem and see the Western Wall and Temple Mount. Walk the Via Dolorosa, to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Travel to Mount Zion and visit the Tomb of King David and the Room of the Last Supper. Continue to the Mount of Olives for a panoramic view of Jerusalem. Visit the Garden of Gethsemane. In the heart of a neighbourhood in downtown Jerusalem, visit Mahane Yehuda to experience the largest open-air market in Israel.
Depart Jerusalem and pass by Jericho, the oldest city in the world. Travel through the Jordan Valley to Beit Shean. Visit the excavations of this preserved Roman City. Continue to Nazareth to visit the Church of the Annunciation and Christian holy sites. Proceed to Safed, city of the Kabbalah and centre of Jewish mysticism, to visit the beautiful streets of the artists’ colony. Continue to a Kibbutz hotel in the Galilee for overnight.
Drive up to the Golan Heights passing by Banias, former Syrian fortifications and the Druze villages. Visit an Israeli winery for a tour and some wine tasting. Descend to the shore of the Sea of Galilee and proceed to Capernaum. Visit the ruins of the ancient synagogue, the Mount of Beatitudes, traditional site of the Sermon on the Mount and Tabgha, the traditional site of the ‘miracle of the loaves and the fish’. Continue to Tiberias with an option to sail on a boat across the Sea of Galilee to experience the tranquillity and scenery. Overnight Kibbutz Hotel.
Drive to Acre for a visit of the medieval fortifications. Continue to Haifa, ascending Mount Carmel for a panoramic view of the city, including the Baha’i Shrine. Proceed to Caesarea to visit the Roman Theatre and the Crusader fortress. End the day with a short city tour of Tel Aviv and the ancient port of Jaffa.
Transfer to Tel Aviv airport. End of services.
