Cross from the Middle East to Africa in this exploratory tour of Jordan and Egypt
Upon arrival into Amman, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
After breakfast, tour the old city of Amman exploring the Citadel and the Roman Theatre, two of the most popular archaeological sites in the city. Drive to Madaba, home so some of the finest Byzantine mosaics in the world. View the 6th century mosaic Map of Jerusalem, possibly the oldest map of the Holy City in existence. Continue to Mount Nebo, the highest point in the Moabite mountain range, offering a remarkable view of the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and the spires of Jerusalem. Tradition holds that Moses viewed “the Promised Land” from this peak. Proceed to Petra. Overnight Petra.
Full day tour of Petra. Walk along the Siq and see the archaeological wonders such as the Treasury and the Monastery. Horse ride is included. Continue to Wadi Rum for a truly authentic overnight experience under the stars in a Bedouin Style Tent or Martian Dome.
After breakfast, enjoy this morning in Wadi Rum, a moonscape terrain of ancient river beds, wind-sculpted mountains, vast desert vistas and smooth, pastel-coloured sands. You will meet long skirted legionnaires offering cardamom-spiced coffee at the “Beau Geste” outpost. Enjoy a 2-hour jeep tour at this oasis, home to the film “Lawrence of Arabia”. A truly out of this world experience! Continue to the Dead Sea to enjoy floating and relaxing. Continue to Amman. Overnight Amman.
Transfer to Amman Airport for your flight to Cairo (flight included). Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Transfer to Cairo Airport for flight to Luxor (flight included). Transfer to cruise vessel. Afternoon tour of the East Bank of Luxor and the Karnak Temples. Overnight on board.
Morning visit to the West Bank including the Valley of the Kings, Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Sail across the river Nile, reach Esna Lock, cross the lock and continue sailing to Edfu.
In Edfu, visit the Temple of Horus. Sail to Kom Ombo and visit the temples of Sobek and Horus. Continue sailing to Aswan.
Tour Aswan with the High Dam, Unfinished Obelisk and Philae Temple. Experience a short adventure trip on the Nile by a Felucca (small boat) sailing around the islands. Overnight on board.
Disembark the vessel and transfer to Aswan Airport for an optional morning tour to Abu Simbel or return flight to Cairo (flight included). Upon arrival in Cairo, transfer to hotel.
Full day tour of Cairo. Visit the famous Egyptian Museum and the Giza plateau to see the Pyramids and Sphinx.
Transfer to Cairo Airport. End of services.
