Itinerary

Transfer from Split airport to Split harbour where the vessel will be docked. Check in from 12pm. Meet the crew and enjoy a welcome cocktail while we set sail for the first island on route – Brač, the largest island in Dalmatia, known for the precious white stone used famous buildings like the White House, Diocletian’s Palace, and the Budapest Parliament to name a few. The village Pučišća has always been known for its culture of stone masonry. The harmony and
homogeneous of the plebeian houses, the Renaissance palaces and Baroque buildings made from the white stone of Brač, leave every visitor breathless. Visit the stone masonry workshop, one of a few lefts in Europe. Dinner on board and overnight in Pučišća.

Meals Included:
Lunch

In the morning, after breakfast, cruise towards the Island of Korčula, best known as the birthplace of
Marco Polo. Stop for lunch in one of the secluded bays en-route. Early afternoon arrival in Korčula followed by a guided walking tour of this enchanting town, fortified by the walls. The island treasures many legends, myths, and tales. Discover Mystic Korčula, through a magic chest of traditions while wandering along the herringbone pattern streets. The town has an abundant choice of restaurants offering an awesome gourmet experience and numerous bars and clubs for evening entertainment. Overnight in Korčula.

Meals Included:
Breakfast, Lunch

Morning cruise further south towards the Island of Mljet. The legend says, Greek hero, Odysseus
spent years on this island. During his travels, he was captured by the nymph Calypso and spent years
with her in the cave right here, on Mljet. Enjoy one of the greenest islands of Adriatic and beware of
the nymphs… Join the cruise manager for a stroll to the famous salt lakes in the Mljet National Park
and enjoy the boat ride to the St Mary Isle, visit the ancient Benedictine monastery, an old abbey and a Church dating from the 12th Century. Mljet is a quiet and protected area, enjoy the serenity, the nature and relax your senses. It is home to many endemic plant species and a rich historical heritage. There are many options for different activities, rent a bike or a kayak for leisure time to explore. Overnight in Pomena or Polača port.

Meals Included:
Breakfast, Lunch

After breakfast, departure towards Lastovo, the largest island of the archipelago of the same name. Lastovo was a military base for Yugoslavian Army and therefore closed for tourism till 1989. That is one of the reasons why the island kept its natural wooded beauty and sense of isolation. The central town of the island is located inland, which is very unusual for the islands, this is because the inhabitants had to hide from the pirates who tried to conquer this island many times during the past. After the lunch on board, there will be a transfer to the Lastovo town, a very picturesque place with old stone houses set on a slope. Wine tasting at the local winery. Overnight in the port of Ubli.

Meals Included:
Breakfast, Lunch

Today’s destination is the island of Vis, lately known as the filming location of Mamma Mia 2. Visit the small island Biševo and its famous Blue Cave, a splendorous and unique geomorphological natural wonder. A hypnotizing silver-blue light illuminates the space inside the cave (Entrance fee approx. 15 €, to be paid on the spot). The visit will depend on weather & tide conditions. Enjoy the lunch on board as the vessel approaches Vis. Time at leisure to explore the main filming locations around the island: the Vis harbour, the Barjoška bay, the market, Barjaci – where the big Abba performance was filmed and many, many others. Possible to rent scooters/cars to visit the rest of
the island on your own. Plenty of beautiful sights and dining places to discover in the evening. Overnight in Vis.

Meals Included:
Breakfast, Lunch

Morning departure towards Hvar, the sunniest Adriatic Island, and the jet-set destination. Upon
arrival, time at leisure to explore Hvar, walk through the smooth cobblestone streets, check out the oldest communal theatre in Europe (set above the “Arsenal” at the local square), or just take a cup of coffee at one of many terraces and feel the vibe. A bus will be ready for the excursion with lunch to Stari Grad, the oldest town in Croatia! The first settlers were the Greeks from the island Paros in the Aegean Sea, who established the colony in the year 384 B.C. and named the town Pharos. Learn more on a guided tour. In the evening a Captain’s dinner with live entertainment on board. Overnight in Stari Grad.

Meals Included:
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Wake up early to admire the sunrise while enjoying the hearty breakfast. Relax on a sundeck and enjoy a swim stop at the most famous beach in Dalmatia – Zlatni Rat near Bol – whose shingle promontory shifts from side to side as the wind and waves constantly cause the shape to change. After lunch, as the cruise continues towards Split, enjoy the unbelievable views of the surrounding seas and the amazing Split’s Riviera. Upon arrival, join the guided city tour. A dynamic port city with a medieval Old Town grown around the 1.700-year-old Diocletian’s Palace, Split bustles with modern life amid its ancient Roman setting. Cafés, restaurants, and galleries cram the cobblestone alleyways, the waterfront and the Marjan peninsula, making Croatia’s second-largest city one of the Mediterranean’s most compelling. Overnight in Split.

Meals Included:
Breakfast, Lunch

After breakfast, it is time to say goodbye to the crew and all your new friends. Check out by 9.00am and transfer to Split airport. End of our services.

Important things to note

All itineraries and cruise vessels are subject to change without notice.

Sailing is at the Captain’s discretion.

Due to the size of the ports, vessels may be lined up next to each other which may result in other passengers boarding your vessel to reach another vessel.

Guests have to follow ship rules (to be found in written form on the ship) especially with regards to not bringing drinks on board and in case of bad behaviour, the tour operator/captain reserves the right in asking clients to disembark.

FAQ’s

In some trips we list multiple vessels in the same class. We do so, as we may use a different vessel depending on departure date, occupancy and availability. As always, these vessels are a guide only and subject to change. Where we need to use a different vessel than that which we list, we endeavour to use vessels with a similar class.

Thank you Sun Island Tours

Review for: Venice To Split

Thank you Sun Island Tours Just last week we returned from our 3 week holiday to Venice, Ljubliana (Slovenia) & Croatia. My husband has never really had the desire to travel to Europe and when I asked him if he wanted to go, he responded ‘not really, but you just tell me when & I will have my bag packed’. I was really worried what his thoughts were. Not only could I see that he was having a good time, he told me that it was a great family holiday. Having a background in the building industry, he was amazed with the buildings, the feature, textures and the construction of them. Still being a bit budget conscious, you recommended Hotel Malibran in Venice that was European 3 star. I wasn’t sure what that meant, but it was clean & comfortable. The breakfast was included and was enough to give us a great start to the day. We stayed approx. a 10 min walk from San Marco and I think it was a better location. Loved exploring the back alleys. Although we took up your recommendation of Ljubliana in Slovenia, this was the place I was concerned about. After now ticking this off my list I can only describe Ljubliana as a scene out a romantic move, stunning! Side note – I might have to revisit as we had a half pouring raining afternoon and I didn’t go on the funicular to the Castle. The half day tours to Lake Bled, Postojna cave & Predjama castle were perfect and just the right amount of time. City Hotel was close to the old town, great stay & yummy breakfast. From here we took the train to Zargreb (another experience that I would 100% recommend). Short stop in Zargreb before we went to Split via Plitvice Lakes. Plitvice is worth the visit. We booked a 7 night small boat cruise from Split to Dubrovnik. I loved every single port. The crew were great and the Cruise Director was kind enough to recommend some family friendly restaurants. A travel tip for your clients – they will do your washing on board and it is only approx. $30. A highlight for my daughter was the island of Vis and visiting the locations of were they filmed Mamma Mia 2. At the end of our trip we stayed 2 nights in Dubrovnik. Thank you for booking us into Hotel More! Spectacular in every way. Whilst there we enjoyed an afternoon at the cave bar watching the sunset for my daughter’s birthday. Probably the best day of my holiday. We can’t thank you enough for the fabulous family holiday that we have just had. Your staff looked after every detail and I’m looking forward to booking my next holiday with you.

I booked my last holiday

Review for: Wonders of Croatia and Slovenia

I booked my last holiday to Europe through Sun island tours and had them organise my itinerary in Slovenia and Croatia. We had excellent service in organising dates and quotes for flights and accommodation. We also had very clear and open lines of communication with Sun island tours throughout the trip. In Slovenia, we went on a day trip to Lake Bled and Postanja caves and had a fantastic and knowledgeable tour guide. A+++, would recommend, and I have already booked my next holiday with Sun Island tours.

Hey Rebecca, we're so glad Slovenia is getting the attention it deseves. For such a small country it packs a punch in terms of food, culture, and incredible sightseeing. It's so green too, with over 30% of the country being national park. We hope you enjoy the next trip as much as the last. Regards, The Sun Island Team

Fantastic, trustworthy company. I

Review for: Venice To Opatija

Fantastic, trustworthy company. I went to the UK for work in December and decided to visit Slovenia and Croatia afterwards. I had previously used Sun Island Tours to arrange my Malta, Greece and Cyprus holiday, and so happily used them again. They are lovely to deal with, generous with their time and reliable. Their destination knowledge is exceptional – they recommended lovely hotels in the perfect locations, and the best day tours. I also appreciated that they listened to my requests for mid-range accommodation and did not push expensive hotels on me. I had an amazing, tailor-made holiday visiting the Christmas markets and gorgeous villages and cities of Slovenia and Croatia. Thank you Sun Island Tours yet again for a wonderful holiday!

Hi Britt, Thank you for your kind review. We are working hard to establish some of the lesser known destinations that you’ve already visited (like Cyprus and Slovenia), and we particularly feel like Slovenia is totally underappreciated. For such a tiny country, it has so much to offer, including some of the nicest and most welcoming people in all of Europe. We look forward to helping create your 3rd trip with us in the future, and thank you again for your time. Kind regards, Sun Island Tours Management
