Itinerary

Embarkation will commence in the afternoon. At 6:00 pm we will do a guided afternoon Split City tour, walking  through Diocletian’s Palace.  Over 1700 years old, Split is overflowing with cultural and historic sights, many of which have been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1979. After our city tour there will be a welcome dinner so you can meet your fantastic crew and fellow travellers. Overnight onboard in Split.

Meals Included:
Dinner

In the morning we will sail for Skradin with a swim stop on the way. Skradin is a romantic Mediterranean town of narrow intertwined streets, arches, and staircases located at the entrance to Krka National Park. Skradin is over 2000 years old and has much archaeological significance. After lunch we will visit Krka National Park. Krka National Park covers a total area of 109 km² along some of the prettiest sections of the Krka River.  We’ll head for the last set of falls before the river meets the sea, at Skradinski Buk, where they form a spectacular multi-level cascade over travertine cliffs. After exploring Krka National Park, we will cruise to Sibenik for a city tour. Sibenik is the oldest city on the Adriatic coast and is one of the largest and best preserved Adriatic cities with a Medieval history. There are over 20 sacred buildings and 17 palaces in the Old City centre, the most famous of which is Saint Jacobs Cathedral. Overnight will be onboard in either Skradin or Sibenik.

Meals Included:
Breakfast, Lunch

Our cruise will continue towards Zadar with a swim stop near Galesnjak Island, located in the Pasman channel of the Adriatic. The island is naturally heart shaped, and as such is a popular stop for both photographers and romantics. Lunch onboard and continue to Zadar. Afternoon arrival in Zadar followed by a city tour of this wonderful town. Zadar’s historical centre is a compact pedestrian zone, perfect to explore on foot. You will see the 16th century Port Gate where a Venetian lion (symbol of Venice) still guards the entrance, the Square of the 5 Wells, Church of St. Donat, Roman Forum (from the 1st century BC) and the biggest Cathedral in Dalmatia – St. Anastasia Cathedral. Overnight onboard in Zadar.

Meals Included:
Breakfast, Lunch

After breakfast we will start our cruise towards Rab. Stop for swimming at Maun Island, with its famous Sipa Cove, and we’ll enjoy some lunch onboard. Upon arrival we will enjoy a Rab city tour. The town of Rab sits on a narrow sliver of land protruding out to sea, bounded by ancient city walls and recognizable by its four church towers. Further inland from the old town is a beautiful park of Komrcar, whose numerous paths wind through wooded hills all the way down to the beaches of Rab. You will have an opportunity to try, and learn how to make the famous “Rab cake”. Explore one of the local restaurants for dinner and overnight onboard in Rab.

Meals Included:
Breakfast, Lunch

Morning departure to Mali Losinj, passing by the islands of Ilovik, Silba, and Olib. Upon arrival our English-speaking guide will walk us through Mali Losinj, the largest town on Losinj Island. After a city tour we’ll visit the Museum of Apoxyomenos. The Museum is a unique archaeological and architectural cultural institution in the region, and it is entirely dedicated to only one exhibit – the bronze statue of a young athlete, the Apoxyomenos. Overnight onboard in Mali Losinj.

Meals Included:
Breakfast, Lunch

Morning departure to Telascica Nature Park with a swim stop along the way. Telascica features peaceful beaches and a rolling coastline on the one side, and wild and steep cliffs on the other, full of Aleppo pine and holm oak forests.  Telascica has been a Natural Reserve since the 1980s, due to its geology, versatile sea life, and interesting archaeological heritage. This evening in the heart of the Nature Park and in the silence of a beautiful cove we will have a gala Captain’s dinner on board. Overnight onboard in Telascica.

Meals Included:
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After breakfast depart through the Kornati archipelago which is a labyrinth of stone with eighty nine islands and islets dotting the sea. We’ll have a swim stop on the way to Primosten. Primosten is a small town located between Sibenik and Split. The old town is situated on a small island which is connected to the mainland. Primošten attracts tourists due to its interesting architecture, beautiful beaches and crystal clear waters. Upon arrival, the rest of the evening is at leisure. Overnight onboard in Primosten.

Meals Included:
Breakfast, Lunch

Loved our TOur

Review for: Egypt in Style

Sun Island Tours was very helpful and accessible whenever we had questions during the planning stage. The Cruise was wonderful, everything we had ever hoped for. We had a great time and met some wonderful people. The Greek Island package was great too! Sun Island choose the best hotels for us in Greece, and made sure that each hotel catered for us perfectly. In Santorini we wanted to stay at the beach, rather than the cliffside. All of our friends kept recommending the cliffside, for the caldera view. We spoke with Sun Island, and they ended up accepting our request for the beach, and choosing the perfect hotel with a view of the water. We were there for only two nights, so they organised a wonderful volcano trip with a sunset cruise on the first day, and we saw the sunset from Oia. The following night they recommended the perfect restaurant for us. The cruise in Croatia was wonderful. Very well organsied. Im glad we went for the deluve option which included touring in each destinations. The food was 5 star and sites were well beyond my dreams. What an amazing part of the world.

This cruise was exactly what I was after.

Review for: Sapphire Cruise Split - Dubrovnik

I recently embarked on a 7 night cruise on the MS Mama Marija (Sapphire Cruise) booked through Sun Island Tours. To say the least, this cruise was exactly what I was after. Exploring, relaxing, unpacking only once in 7 days was a dream after travelling through Europe for 5 weeks. The vessel itself was incredible, great crew, beyond amazing food which caused me to put on a few kgs. Most walking tours and excursions were included in the cost which was a bonus. I couldn't fault this cruise one bit. Thank you Sun Island Tours for your recommendation and expertise

What a fabulous holiday

Review for: Sapphire Cruise Split - Dubrovnik

What a fabulous holiday, couldn’t have been better, perhaps a few days longer. THANK YOU SO MUCH for arranging everything, it was just amazing!! The islands are so beautiful and steeped with so much history which the excellent walking tours brought to life. As for our ship, we couldn’t have had a better crew. Excellent food and well presented. The crew went above and beyond to ensure we got to do everything we wanted.
