Day 1, Sunday VIENNA
Upon arrival in Vienna, you will be transferred to your hotel. Welcome dinner and overnight in Vienna. (D)
Day 2, Monday VIENNA
After breakfast, begin your day with a morning sightseeing tour of Vienna. Start with a visit of Hofburg Palace, once the seat of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Then view Belvedere Palace, Prater Amusement Park, the UN Buildings, St. Stephen’s Cathedral, and other reminders of the city’s Imperial History. The rest of the day at leisure and stroll through Christmas Markets of Vienna. Overnight in Vienna. (B)
Day 3, Tuesday VIENNA – SALZBURG
After breakfast, we drive to Salzburg, the city of Mozart. We will visit the famous “Silent Night” chapel before checking in to your hotel. In the late afternoon, visit Salzburg’s Christmas Market, mentioned as far back as the 15th century, located at the foot of the Hohensalzburg fortress and around the venerable Cathedral of Salzburg. Overnight in Salzburg. (B)
Day 4, Wednesday SALZBURG – NUREMBERG
As we depart Salzburg in the morning, we head to Regensburg for an orientation tour of the city. Afterwards, visit its impressive Christmas market, settled in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue to Nuremberg and check into our hotel. The evening is free to visit one of the many Christmas markets. Overnight in Nuremberg. (B)
Day 5, Thursday NUREMBERG
Today, a morning sightseeing tour features major sites, including medieval city of Nuremberg, a trip to the Nazi Party rally grounds and the Nuremberg trials. Afternoon, visit the main square and it’s Christkindl market, one of the oldest and best in Europe. Don’t miss tasting the famous Lebkuchen (gingerbread) and mulled wine. Overnight in Nuremberg. (B)
Day 6, Friday NUREMBERG – MUNICH
Late morning drive to Munich. Check in to your hotel. Afternoon visit to one of the Christmas markets. Farewell dinner in a local restaurant in Munich. Overnight in Munich. (B, D)
Day 7, Saturday MUNICH
Join an extensive city tour of Munich – the capital of the state of Bavaria. We will see Nymphenburg castle which in past times, the baroque palace was the residence of the monarchs of Bavaria. Next will see the Residence, Maximilian and Leopold Street, the Opera, the Olympic grounds, the Marienplatz with the city hall and the famous Carillon, church of St. Peter, the Viktualien-market and many more. The afternoon is dedicated to visiting the oldest of the Christmas markets in Munich, Christkindl Market at Marienplatz (main square). (B)
Day 8, Sunday MUNICH
After breakfast, transfer to Munich airport. End of services. (B)
