Originally called “Thebes” in ancient Egypt, Luxor has a wealth of temples and tombs to explore. From here you can visit the Temple or Karnak, the Valley of the Kings, Luxor Temple and the Temple of Deir al-Bahri (Queen Hatshepsut). Well worth a few days at least, to explore all that Luxor has to offer.
Sharm el-Sheikh is a well established resort town, located between the desert of the Sinai Peninsula and the Red Sea. Loved by divers, it is known for its natural sandy beaches, crystal waters and coral reefs. Don’t forget a visit to the Old Bazaar – one of the top spots for shopping!
One of Egypt’s top tourist and most recongised attractions, this breathtaking monument is a massive rock temple carved in sandstone rock. The twin temple was carved out during the reign of Pharaoh Ramesses the great as a lasting monument to himself and his queen Nefertari, before being moved for the construction of Lake Nasser.
A visit to Egypt wouldn’t be complete without a cruise on the River Nile. Fly to either Luxor or Aswan to join a 3, 4, or 7-night cruise, which include stops at Edfu to visit the Temple of Horus, and Kom Ombo to see the temples of Sobek and Horus. Sites you will witness in Luxor include the Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. In Aswan, wonder at the awe of Philae Temple and the Unfinished Obelisk.
